Surprised to see isn't he clever here. Should be interesting to see how much action he gets, being that he has the highest beyer in the field, but it was sprinting at Sunland.

I thought Brother Francis was going to the Bob Lewis (?)....

Interesting field for the Arcadia!

I had no idea Pathfork was here (need to see pp's but as far as I can remember he only had one race last year) and haven't seen the name Dewey's Special in forever.

I like the idea of M One on the grass (!).

Poor Masone never wins.

If Mr. Commons has an off day I suppose El Gato Malo could conceivably win.

I said could.

Prayer for Relief might be the rabbit for Bob Baffert to hook with Tapizar early to set it up for Jaycito

El Gato Malo is cross entered for the San Antonio...

I seriously hope they keep him here.

I like Balladry in the Strub and am looking at Chips All In who I believe has a shot anyway...

Prayer for Relief would need a jet pack to be able to run with Tapizar early.

With 2 Baffert/Zayat horses you would think one would be the rabbit. Looks to me PFR will be on a suicide mission.

Might be the other way around. Jaycito had speed in a couple of starts as a juvenile. He's fresh and has a sharp 1/2 mile work leading into this. He's also been a disappointment, been training with the second string, and is coming off throat surgery. Seems expendable, especially in this situation (entering a Grade 2 route off a 6 month break).

I agree with Jaycito probably being the rabbit, but I like Balladry to catch them.

Tapizar must be pretty overrated to be 6-5ML in that spot. What about the turf speed pushing him early? I dont like his chances today. Ill stick with the 2 Bafferts, its nice having the goat 2x and neither is chalk.

I mean, really? How stupid do these jocks have to be? How many times do they have to give Ultimate Eagle a loose lead before they realize he doesn't quit?

He won that race as soon as Nakatani tried to rate on the backstretch after not getting the lead.

Yep. As soon as Nak pulled back, I walked away from the computer before I did my best DrugS computer demolition imitation.

I thought it was worth mentioning that Tres Borrachoes is scratched from the San Antonio...

I guess Tapizar answered the question if he could be rated or not. That was ugly.

I'm not sure if you can give an honest assesment off that race yesterday. It's not like they tried to rate from the beginning. Nakatani went for the lead for the first half, when he didn't get it, then he went to plan B which turned out to be a disaster. Once he let up off the gas, it was the begining of the end for everyone involved. I just thought he was commited to the front/lead when he decided to pull back and try to rate.

Yeah, it kind of goes back to something I saw the Mig say on the National Racing Report after his last race. Something to the effect of, with a horse like him, you're better off just letting him roll early because it's what he wants to do. When you try to take that away from a horse like him, they lose interest.

Obviously I overrated him and the winner ran a hole in the wind. But I would love to Tapizar just given his head in the future and let him do what he does best.

Yeah, That race kept me up for a while last night. I certainly gave the winner a long look, but never figured he would end up by himself out there. I used the 8 instead thinking that the race might melt down, but then Nak rates and the rest is history. More importantly my $22 horse in the first leg ends up being a colossal waste.
