Considering my play today, maybe I should be 25-1. Hope I play better tomorrow.

Thanks for checking my calcs, Cal. In my haste to get the preliminary odds posted before going on to other things I put a $25 wager on Don in your column by mistake. Corrections have been made.

Thank you JB. Some day before I pass on you'll need to teach me who too do this, maybe?

What is going on? Did anyone else notice that Ruffian placed a wager on the favorite? That should in itself be a cause for a DQ!

First question of the day - why wasn't Nashville running in the sprint? Either the track is really souped up for today, or else he would have dominated the BC race with a final time of 1:07.89. Seemingly without much effort.

Yes, I noticed that. Being my usual obsessive compulsive self, I also noticed that Don G's wager today is only $100, which I thought strange since I don't think he bet on Friday. Maybe he plans to add another bet later?

After digging a little more into Race 12, I changed my wager and got bold with a Tri Box and a $20 win bet. I see you picked him to win in your Points Picks. Interesting!?

I agree!!! DQ her and throw her in "I can't believe it" jail!!! Emojis are so she can't reply with more than 2 herself.

Let's be fair to our feline friend. Due to the quirks of parimutuel wagering, it was in large part due to her $50 wager on herself that she became, or at least remained the favorite. Ruff usually bases her wagers on the morning line, and in Don's morning line she was the 4th choice.

The track superintendant must have been working all night to soup up the track. The internal fractions and final times on the main track have been unbelievable. I know that these are fast horses, but speed has been carrying much more than it should. Track records have been broken left and right.

Time to change all of my tickets for any later races on the main track. Need to emphasize those with early gas; closers don't seem to have a fair shot.

Now that Plenilune has completed the scoring of our points contest for the Breeders Cup races, I can report on the results of Don Guido's annual Gallivan Cup Wager. In Don Guido's wagering emporium there is no takeout and virtually no breakage. Unfortunately for the winners, there is also no real money, just an annual game of handicapping the handicappers.

8 players participated in this year's contest. This year's results were a bit surprising in that the winner was the longest shot on the board at very generous odds of 11.3-1. Two players had the winner, and their payoffs are as follows:

Cal 828 wagered $25 to win and received a payoff of $308.

JolyB used the simple handicapping technique of wagering on himself with a $40 win ticket and received a payoff of $492 cyberdollars.

Thanks a lot Don Guido, for continuing this enjoyable handicapping exercise.
