I keep hearing how great this crop is. A few people in the Keeneland chat yesterday said its the best crop in years. How? 98 and 94 beyers for 2 major preps? I feel much better about Take Charge Indy after watching yesterdays races.... He is slow 2, dont get me wrong. I do believe that he has more room to improve then pretty much everyone, other then maybe Bodemeister.

I feel the same way. It's not just that the SA Derby got only a 94 but the more disturbing fact is that the two leading 3yos left in CA were barely able to beat Blueskiesnrainbows, a horse that was in a $30k maiden race a few months ago.

I just love him. He's the most underrated horse of the last 5 years.

On Apr 7 at SA they ran two races at 6.5f, both on a fast track.
One was run in 1:14.31 and the other in 1:14.16.
One race gets a 105 Beyer and the other gets a 93 Beyer.

How is Amazombie's fig in the Potrero Grande so much higher than Solar Rocket's fig in the Clm race ???
It was 0.15 secs faster - how does that equal 12pts?

No one gets a horse to run over a 93 beyer from Baffert. That pretty much explains it.
