maybe so scuds , but , let's see how they fair on the upcoming road trip after the break

i guess if they win 70 home games and win 25 on the road they will get in

Just an update for you Marty

Sox have won 34 on the road thus far. 27 games remaining, including today, and 18 of those are at home and 9 on the road

Rays have 28 games remaining with 11 at home and 17 on the road. Not convinced we can't catch them, but the Rays have to have a slide eventually, right?

Yankees....well, I will let you come to your own conclusion

If the Rays go 14-14 down the stretch, the Sox will have to go 19-8 to win the Division....

Problem for the Sox is, the Rays won't go 14-14 down the stretch.

They have 6 games against each other, which should be fun, but....

The Rays' last 8 games are against the Tigers and Orioles

Which has worked out pretty well in 2004 and 2006

I think going to war with Lester, Beck and DiceK as a playoff rotation isn't exactly waving the flag of surrender. Wake in the pen has always seemed to work out better than expected.........we're not dead yet Kev.

And they may actually finish with a winning record on the road if this keeps up. I wouldn't be popping the champagne for Division Champs quite yet in Tampa. 8-0 now, Lowell and Beckett back tonight....they may do okay the rest of the way!!

Tampa has some tough road games ahead of them and I think they have finally started looking at the calendar and realizing its September.

Bah. I had a response going (with research stats), but my browser closed and it is gone.....

While the Division Championship would be awesome, nobody here is thinking they can really hold off the Sox. Good news? Rays have an 8 game lead on Minnesota for the Wild Card slot.

Suffice it to say, Halladay vs. Sonnanstine (last night's matchup) is a Jays win 9 out of 10 times.

Rays should win the next two with Shields and Garza going.

Sox series on Monday will be a L, W, L.

Rays leading by 1.5 or more after Wednesday night.....

It is thoroughly enjoyable whatching the Yankee fans around here crawl under their rocks. I noticed my neighbor, who sports a Yankee tag on the front of his truck, last weekend changed it to Buccaneers tag. I don't think closer is the issue. The Rays just went 11-5 with Percival on the DL.

If they falter down the stretch, it will be because of their lack of offense. They desperately miss Crawford and Longoria's bats.
