I missed the race....... any excuses or is he just moderate at best?

Please say it's the second of the two I can't help it but i enjoy seeing these huge purchases flopping on the track. (Especially a Godolphin or Coolmore purchase!)

Those are the words i wanted to hear, thanks.

It makes it even better as he is trained by Pletcher

What would you do with The Green Monkey, Dahoss? Pull the plug now? Feign an injury, supposedly occurring during the race?

Give him one last shot, on a different surface?

22.4/46/109.4 and was used up after a half - clearly didn't need extra distance...they run 15k claimers 4 1/2f at Charles Town in similar fashion at the first two points of call... - Should TAP start singing "Country Roads"?

maybe he could handle a maiden 20k. or maybe a maiden claimer.

he is nice looking, maybe he could be a show horse. or try him in steeplechasing.

he earned a small check for today. at this rate, he'll break even when he's 80.

He is not that bad. He has got some speed.

As a multimillion dollar horse he
absolutely sux.
I dont like to see horses fail.
But this guy failing and people laughing
will possibly keep the ridiculous prices
for horses that have never even raced
down. But probably not. One can hope.

Can people be shamed into not shelling
those bucks out, or its just play money
and they cant be embarassed...

This horse/purchase is a magnet for ridicule.

He is exceptionally not good for the price.
Therefore he sux.

I just hope there is some shame associated
with the purchase.

I'm sure the folks that paid 675,000 for Giant Deputy aren't exactly breathing a sigh of relief that he finally broke after a career BSF top of 76. I'm sure they had higher expectations as well.

I can't explain why people need to take a sh!t on TGM other than as fans of the sport, they are sick and tired of seeing ridiculously overpriced horses race 6 freaking times and then go directly to the shed. Which is exactly what was planned for this one. Now it's a train wreck/soap opera, and a little validation. It has nothing to do with the horse personally.

A side note to this race, Joppa Flats is one of the fastest horses ever to be a life-long maiden. Just looking at his thorograph sheet, he has improved tremendously this year, working his way down to a consistent "4", which, while not a stakes-winning number, would certainly make him a quality allowance horse. Yet, the sonofagun REFUSES to win! Six 2nd place finishes in a row. I guess he's still making money for his connections, but I'd like to see what he might do with new connections.

Signed a pro contract for big bucks but never could play much because his long, thin leg bones kept cracking under the strain. Spent most of his pro career recovering from injuries.
