Default $3.8 Billion for Emergency Border Control

Are you kidding me? For judges, detention facilities etc.?

There are just under 2,000 miles that cover the entire US-Mexico border. Divided by $3.8 billion that comes to $1.9 million per mile and that divided by 5,280 comes to $359 a foot.

It's time to build a fence similar to fences installed at maximum security Federal prisons. Not only would it virtually eliminate illegal crossings other than fraudulent border crossings, but would save on labor costs, fuel and greenhouse gases, prevent the import of illegal drugs and child sex/labor slaves all the while making the border far more secure.

This situation makes the cash for clunkers fiasco look good.

Dell - face it - they will NEVER build a fence. Bush didn't. Obama won't. We hear every song and dance and cliche' offered as to why we cannot have a fence, shouldn't want a fence, etc.

It's absurd. The Democrats want illegal aliens to be absorbed as new Democrats - especially when we don't require ID at the polls. And the Republicans want the cheap labor.

It's over. The country is hemorrhaging.

there's a reason why people are now against immigration reform. we can't employ our own. allowing people to flood in isn't helping anyone's situation at all.
the border with mexico isn't the same as the one we share with canada, which is the longest undefended and essentially unguarded border in the world.
we should have taken mexico a century or so ago when we had the chance, a border at veracruz would be a lot easier to protect!

i am so tired of politicians worrying more about keeping their seat than in doing hard work and fixing things!

Watch the republicans will go along with this only they'll add $3.8 billion to the bill for some useless program or weapon they want and the taxpayer will get bent over twice.

Why would they do that? They're not going to do something that actually makes sense. LOL.

saw where obama wants the money to go.
can we finally fix that border so we don't have to continue to react, rather than be proactive?
i mean, its' great that there will be more people hired as guards, workers at facilities, etc. but that can't continue.

Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX): “If he (Obama) is saying he’s too busy to go down to the border, but you have time to drink a beer, play pool, the optics and the appearance just mean he’s not paying attention to this humanitarian crisis.”

It's a soft white genocide.

Oh no the crazy conspiracy theorist at it again.

Sure I am. Whites will cease to exist in this country. Those of you who chose to have kids should be worried about it...but hell you're probably liberal and believe in government-edited jobs reports and purple unicorns.

Planeloads of immigrants continue to land in El Paso:

>>>Ruben Garcia, executive director of the Annunciation House, confirmed that a plane landed in El Paso on Wednesday, but stressed that he didn't know how immigration officials would handle the new arrivals.

"I don't know how they decide to release people," Garcia said.

Garcia added that he didn't know whether the undocumented immigrants would be released to local shelters or whether they would be sent to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico.

On Wednesday, Tobin Park United Methodist Church in El Paso received 10,500 pounds of food from El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. The donation was in anticipation of the immigrants' arrival, said Janie Sinclair, executive director of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.

The church also has set up cots in its gymnasium. <<<

so....the air traffic controllers can't just say 'you can't land here'? or they can't just tell them to return to where they flew from?

"This crisis that some call a crisis, we have to view as an opportunity," Nancy Pelosi said. "If you believe as we do that every child, every person has a spark of divinity in them, and is therefore worthy of respect -- what we saw in those rooms was [a] dazzling, sparkling, array of God's children, worthy of respect."

Good. So she'll be having some flown to her California estates?
