Default Greatest Remake Songs Ever

# 1- Chambers Bros. "Time Has Come" redone by the Ramones. (I personally witnessed this in a club in D.C.)

#2 Sweet Jane by Velvet Underground redone by Cowboy Junkies. (Hard to improve on the best but they did it)

#3-Lauryn Hills remake of Roberts Flacks' Killing Me Softly. Actually, this should probably be #1.

Thoughts????

2) The "live" verison of Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Guns N Roses

3) Whitesnake's "funky" verison of the Beatles - Day Tripper

And how about Black Crows' version of Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle"?

Slightly obscure, but I thought No Doubt did a good take on Talk Talk's "It's My Life" which I always liked...

The Clash "I fought the Law....." still forces my feet to move....a sight at my age to be amused by.

never a cure fan but thought they did a great job covering hendrix.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq2JED0V8kk

tracy chapman doing house of the rising sun. i think one of the better versions.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0M-Ck5USQc

i don't get the love of note for note covers. i think both of these took an old song a new direction.

The two most obvious ones were mentioned by Doc, Watchtower and I fought the law.

I also like the Flying Lizards version of Money.
