Hip 29, colt by Pioneerof the Nile – Pretty ’n Smart, by Beau Genius. Consigned by Vanmeter-Gentry Sales, agent. $475,000-Fox Hill

Classic sire Pioneerof the Nile died earlier this year, meaning supply-and-demand dynamics will begin to come into play with his final crops. Pretty ’n Smart is the dam of Grade 1 winner Cupid, Grade 3 winners Heart Ashley and Ashley’s Kitty, and stakes winner Indianapolis. The mare’s 10 yearlings sold at public auction have averaged $775,500, led by a $2.7 million colt at the 2017 Keeneland September sale, a filly sold for $1.2 million here last year, and a colt sold for $1 million here in 2013.

War Front, the most expensive stallion in North America this year, is a perennial leader at Keeneland September by average. Princesa Silvia, who was purchased by $1.4 million by Whisper Hill Farm as a broodmare prospect, is a half-sister to Horse of the Year Saint Liam, Grade 1 winner Funtastic, and graded stakes winners Congessionalhonor and Quiet Giant. Quiet Giant is the dam of Horse of the Year Gun Runner, while another half-sister, Beatem Buster, is the dam of Grade 1 winner Buster’s Ready.

Hip 51, colt by Tapit – Rigoletta, by Concerto. Consigned by Gainesway, agent. OUT

Perennial leading sire and commercial juggernaut Tapit again ranks among this year’s leading sires by earnings, stakes winners, and Beyer Speed Figures. Grade 1 winner Rigoletta is the dam of Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Battle of Midway. Grade 1 winner Patternrecognition also appears on this catalog page.

Hip 61, colt by Pioneerof the Nile – Sambuca Classica, by Cat Thief. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. OUT

This is a full brother to Eclipse Award champion juvenile and Preakness Stakes runner-up Classic Empire, as well as a half-brother to stakes winners Anytime Magic and Uptown Twirl and stakes-placed Exclamation Point. Uptown Twirl’s Pioneerof the Nile colt is consigned later on the day, as Hip 174.

Hip 68, colt by Curlin – Scarlet Tango, by French Deputy. Consigned by Denali Stud, agent for Stonestreet. $800,000-Mike Ryan

This is a half-brother to Grade 1 winners Tara’s Tango and Visionaire, as well as Grade 3 winners Madison’s Luna and Scarlet Strike.

Hip 71, colt by Into Mischief – Sealy Hill, by Point Given. Consigned by Gainesway, agent for Bonne Chance Farm. $950,000-OXO/Larry Best

Into Mischief, a perennial leading juvenile sire, has climbed atop North America’s general sire list this season. Canadian Horse of the Year Sealy Hill has developed from an outstanding racemare into an outstanding broodmare, producing Canadian champion Hillaby, Grade 1 winner Cambier Parc, and graded stakes winners Belle Hill and Gale Force. Her three yearlings sold at public auction have averaged $725,000, keyed by Cambier Parc, who sold for $1.25 million here in 2017.

Hip 75, colt by Tapit – Seeking Gabrielle, by Forestry. Consigned by Hinkle Farms. $2,500,000-Godolphin

This is a half-brother to Eclipse Award champion juvenile Nyquist, who went on to win the 2016 Kentucky Derby. Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap winner Sahara Sky also appears on the catalog page.

Hip 76, filly by Curlin – Serena’s Harmony, by Tapit. Consigned by Denali Stud, agent. $800,000-Shadwell

This is the first foal out of unraced Serena’s Harmony, whose first three dams are stakes winners Serena’s Cat and Serena’s Tune and Hall of Fame racemare Serena’s Song, all multiple stakes producers. Serena’s Cat is the dam of champion Honor Code, graded stakes winner Noble Tune, and stakes winner Declarationofpeace. This is a commercially-popular family, with five foals out of Serena’s Cat averaging $1.59 million at auction.

Hip 106, colt by Pioneerof the Nile – Stage Magic, by Ghostzapper. Consigned by Glennwood Farm. RNA ($950,000)

Grade 3-placed Stage Magic is the dam of unbeaten Triple Crown winner Justify, as well as Grade 3 winner The Lieutenant. Justify sold for $500,000 as a yearling, while a half-brother was a $1.75 million buyback here last year.

Hip 124, colt by War Front – Sun Shower, by Indian Ridge. Consigned by Gainesway, agent. RNA ($190,000)

This colt is a full brother to Lancaster Bomber, an Irish Group 1 winner and highweight; he also was second in the Breeders’ Cup Mile and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, and Group 1 placed in England and Canada. This colt is a half-brother to English and French Group 1 winner Excelebration, who also won the Group 2 German 2000 Guineas; to Group 3 winner Mull of Killough; and to stakes winner Shivalik Showers.

Hip 135, colt by Tapit – Take Charge Brandi, by Giant’s Causeway. Consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency. RNA ($775,000)

This is the second foal out of Eclipse Award champion Take Charge Brandi, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Omaha Beach and Group 1-placed Courage Under Fire. Take Charge Brandi’s granddam is Broodmare of the Year Take Charge Lady, dam of champion Will Take Charge and Grade 1 winner Take Charge Indy.

Hip 141, colt by Medaglia d’Oro – Taste Of Heaven, by Encosta de Lago. Consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent. $400,000-Kanayama

This colt’s winning dam is a full or half-sister to Group 1 winner and leading sire Redoute’s Choice; Group 1 winners Manhattan Rain and Platinum Scissors; Group 3 winner Sliding Cube, the dam of Group 2 winner Rubick; classic-placed stakes winner Echoes of Heaven; and several other stakes producers, including the dam of Group 1 winner Shoals. This also is the immediate family of Group 1 winners Hurricane Sky and Umatilla.

Hip 154, colt by Curlin – Tizamazing, by Cee’s Tizzy. Consigned by Burleson Farms, agent. $325,000-Eclipse

Two yearlings from this extremely productive family will be offered in quick succession during the Monday session. This colt is a half-brother to Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow and to stakes winner Awesome Patriot. Tizamazing is a full sister to Horse of the Year Tiznow, as well as to Grade 2 winner and $2.8 million earner Budroyale, Grade 2 winner Tizdubai, and stakes winner Tizbud. She also is a full sister to Tizso, dam of Grade 1 winner Paynter, Grade 3 winner Tiz West, and stakes winner Tizakitty. Tizso’s filly by leading sire Into Mischief will be offered as Hip 157.

Hip 159, filly by Uncle Mo – Together, by Galileo. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. $200,000-Twin Creeks

Grade 1 winner Together, a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Jan Vermeer, is the dam of Group 2-placed Earring and stakes-placed Battle of Jericho.

Hip 167, filly by Galileo – Turbulent Descent, by Congrats. Consigned by Four Star Sales, agent. $710,000-North Hills

This is one of just three yearlings in Book 1 by international titan Galileo. This filly, out of four-time Grade 1 winner Turbulent Descent, is a full sister to Group 3 winner Spanish Steps.

Hip 172, colt by Tapit – Unrivaled Belle, by Unbridled’s Song. Consigned by Timber Town, agent. $1,500,000-Hasegawa

Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic winner Unrivaled Belle defeated champions Rachel Alexandra, Blind Luck, and Havre de Grace during her career. This colt is a fill sibling to her two-time Eclipse Award champion Unique Bella.

Hip 173, colt by Pioneerof the Nile – Up, by Galileo. Consigned by Lane’s End, agent. $1,000,000-Magnier/Brant

Group 2 winner Up, who was second in the French 1000 Guineas, is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Dutch Art. Up, a $2.2 million broodmare purchase herself, is the dam of foals sold for $800,000 and $750,000 during her career. The $750,000 foal is Group 1-placed juvenile Monarch of Egypt, by Pioneerof the Nile’s son American Pharoah.

Hip 185, Golden Whim, colt by Medaglia d’Oro – Weekend Whim, by Distorted Humor. Consigned by Lane’s End, agent. $1,500,000-Repole/Viola/Magnier

This is a full brother to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and Belmont Oaks winner New Money Honey. Weekend Whim, a full sister to Grade 1 winner Any Given Saturday and a half-sister to graded winner and producer Bohemian Lady, sold for $1.4 million to Summer Wind Farm while carrying this foal.
