I am not so proud to admit I actually saw Bubbles Hawkins play. From memory, shortly after the Nets joined the NBA (and sold Julius Erving to Philly), they were AWFUL, but he was there top player for one season. Was waived mid-way through the next, never to be heard from again. I am fairly certain he has passed away.

He only lost by three letters. And they both could've been way more creative. I didn't actually see this year's HORSE at the All-Star Game. Were the shots more interesting than this "regular jumpshot" stuff?

The Pistol looked like he was just playin with him. He made it look so easy.

From what I can make of it, this is something they did to run during halftime of the national broadcasts back in the late 70's. I watched a little of Paul Westphal's match with Super John Williamson, it was a bit more entertaining. I can only assume in the early rounds, the better players were a bit conservative, simply trying to win.

I do believe the Pistol had a bit more in his repetoire than he used in the first match.

Indians v. Yankees right now.

What does it take for Fox to switch to their alternate game? 20 runs?

they got 20... and still going. The alt game for you's the Cubs, which is 5-4 in the 8th.

The Cubs-Cards is tied and I still can't see it.

Does Fox think the country is that smitten by the Yankees that we will keep watching even if they are down by 18?

I keep checking between races, but no luck on the switch.

I keep telling myself to check the box score (to see how the Yanks gave up ? 14? In one inning,) but this Milton Bradley story is more entertaining:

Brotha, ya injured. Just take the days now.

I'm not comfortable with this year's version, but if they do not make the playoffs, I don't see it being because of Girardi. Now, I understand that there is a difference between whether a potential failure is his fault vs. it's not his fault, but you can't fire 25 players, yet I think that he will finish this season.

We'll see.
Just get Jimmy Jerkens.
