With a shut down corner like "Ruger Relle Revis" - the Jets are going to make a strong run at drafting in the top 10 again.

The Bills are pretty damn good....at least from looking at the highlights and box scores - that's my impression.

Good but not quite pretty damn good. Lucking into Seattle without their top two receivers and then Jacksonville without their starting center and both starting guards was a nice way to start, especially with three very winnable games coming up and the potential of a 5-0 start. The defense is good now with the players returning from injuries and the adding physicality from Stroud and Mitchell. Offense is ok but Edwards has not shown the ability to throw the ball well in cold weather and when the weather turns they will desperately need Hardy to step up and become a bigtime possession receiver so they aren't counting on the mighty midgets in the snow again. And of course the great special teams make it so they have a chance in any game. The good news is I don't think anyone can qualify as pretty damn good right now so just being good might be enough this year. Getting all four west coast teams making the trip to Buffalo will help while the Patriots have to make the trip to the west coast to face all of those teams.

Some real fat dude I see from time to time at a wigger strip club here told me the Bills would be a playoff team this year.

He's supposed to be the best football handicapper in the area.

In that case I'd better go get in line for playoff tickets.

you're mad.

You're the one who tries to make everything about the lazy love of your life, and then when he doesn't do anything, you act like it's all about the Patriots and the Jets. I know the Jets got outplayed, but this thread was yet another masturbation session about Moss and how he'll be fine with Cassel. He was completely neutralized, which is why I came in to comment, and it isn't a one-time thing. Revis pretty much shut him down last season too.

Right, keep telling yourself that. Cassel sucks and you know it. We put on a total clinic of how not to play special teams, you DOMINATED the field position game, you got call after call after call and it was still a close game. Frankly, I didn't think either team looked very good, which is why I'd be worried about Buffalo.

Impossible.

You do realize Cassel has always been regarded as an inaccurate passer when he's not warming benches - he was 3-for-11 in his final high school start - and only completed about 54 percent of his passes this preseason on an offense that stalled. He barely won his job as the backup.

Yet, he's over 70% so far this year.

Jackson just benched for Gus Frerotte

Duante got hurt in the 3rd week of the 2003 season. Gus Frerotte came in with the game tied and won the game by 10.

Frerotte's first start came next week against the 49ers.

The Vikings won 35-7

Gus went 16-for-21 with 267 passing yards 4 TD's and 0 INT's.

Moss had 8 catches for 172 yards and 3 TD's - Terrell Owens had 5 catches for 55 yards 0 TD's and tore into his offensive coordinator on the sideline.

Gus was named the NFC offensive player of the week.

Start #2 for Gus - the Vikings beat the Falcons 39-26. Gus throws 2 TD's to Moss.

That was it for the Gus Frerotte show. He throw 5 TD passes to Moss in his only two Viking Starts - the offense averaged 37 points - they handily won both games - and back to the bench so Duante could lead them to 7 losses in the final 11 weeks of the season and they missed the playoffs.

Jeff George made the pro bowl, won a playoff game, and had that Viking offense going like a machine - Gus Frerotte looked like Dan Marino in his prime - and all Duante could do is put up huge stats but lose close game shootout after close game shootout with his head.

Matt Cassel is a better QB right now than Duante ever was.

Impossible that the Pats touch him.

He threw Moss under the bus in Minnesota - and because of fantasy football and Minny's swiss cheese defense - like everyone actually thought he was a great qb.

Erick Kresser was a better qb.

Belichick hasn't ruled him out and iirc Moss called him in the offseason to see if he would like to finish what they started in Minnesota with another team.

Even Simon and Garfunkel got back together.

With the defense and running game Minny magically has now - Moss on the Vikes would probably win the Super Bowl with Tavaris and surely would win it with Gus.

Interesting. A few years ago, before he went to NE, i was thinking what it would be like if Moss went to Atlanta and played with Vick. Can you imagine that offense? It would have been illegal and impossible to stop.

Great idea for a late night radio program broadcast from Area 51.

I disagree mort. Back then they had duckett and also the tight end crumpler.

With that much speed (vick and moss) and that much size, its not like you could cheat on anybody. A defense would have to line up at least nickel almost every down to deal with the outside speed. Want to roll coverage to moss? Okay, but that means one less guy to come after Vick. Want to cheat on Vick and leave Moss single covered deep? And beyond that, are you really going to cover Crumpler over the middle with a backer? And if you go dime, duckett would run right down your throat.
