Calracing.com shows live racing at only Cali tracks.. but it shows replays of several other tracks including NYRA tracks.
Gulf replays can be seen for free on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/gulfstreamparkracing

You can also see races from New York on Cal Racing. You have to click on Horse and enter the name of the horse. Unfortunately no races from Gulfstream show up when I tried that.

Still no full race head-on of the Eightyfiveinafifty race at Cal Racing sadly.
You do get to see the head-on of all the race-riding going into the 1st turn if anyone missed it. * Eightyfiveinafifty breaks a half step slow from his inside post - and Migliore quickly and cleverly angles very sharply inward to make Chavez want to crap his pants. * Good race riding is riding as dirty as possible without doing enough to justify a DQ. Mig does a great job of it and backs off before crossing the line. While an unsettled 85ina50 is looking in the infield .. Cohen is watching it all happen in the yellow cap and gets ready to make his race riding contribution before the first turn. * Cohen guns his horse very sharply inside to bump with a seemingly already unsettled 85ina50 and pins him down without crossing the line and slamming him into the rail. The strategic move of intimidation backfires as 85 Wide in 50 Yards muscles his way to the outside fence and reportedly crashes through two rails. Somewhere at sometime his bit reportedly broke. Too bad we can't rate Chavez on his landing. |

It was pretty remarkable from reading stories about the race and from reading a ton of posts that no one was mentioning what went on before the first turn.
It was as though everything was going according to plan - and suddenly the equipment magically broke and the horse started running through rails. The equipment probably broke during one of the two seperate tactical muggings he recieved early on in the race by other riders attempting to put a huge favorite at a disadvantage. The amusing thing about DQ's in horse racing is that the trouble that occurs late in races leading to the vast majority of DQ's is very insignificant compared to what happens in the far more important early stages. It's why I tend to disagree with most every DQ. |

I wish Calracing.com still had Bay Meadows races up. I went looking for the final race on the final day a few weeks ago. "The Last Dance" It no longer exists. |
