they had no choice. sometimes rulings can be unpalatable, but they must always be correct. in this case, it's a moral issue rather than a legal one. is lying wrong? of course.
besides, pols don't want any laws against lying-i'm surprised anyone attempted this legislation at all. matter of fact, there's a guy here in arkansas running for office who has been caught lying about his military service. claims he was special forces, but he never passed the training.
