check to see if anyone you want to hear is playing at the belly up in solano beach. it's a much smaller more relaxed version of the house of blues.

go to petco park even if you hate baseball like i do. it's a great stadium and plenty of good eats in the neighborhood. don't go to qualcomm even if you love football like i do and your favorite team is playing the chargers. it's a dump in the middle of suburbia.

take the trolley to the border. walk across and enjoy the sights. take a picture of yourself with a donkey painted like a zebra. it's not dangerous but all your friends back home will treat it like you just toured kandahar.

san diego's a great town. hard to go wrong whatever you do. have fun.

I highly suggest getting the Mahi Mahi at the Fishermans Warf right around the corner from the track, and of course a burger at Bully's.

I like to stay at the Hilton right next to the track, easy to walk to no matter what condition you're in

The Second Race (a rescue group) has an auction going for an owners box on Sunday 9/5, a great spot to watch the races from! The bid is at $350... The box is on the finish line in the shade.

If you want to go to the backside and see the barns, send me a PM and I can help you get back there...

Have fun, it's a great track, one of my favorites!

Were you really a cop before? Are you hot? If I come to your room in the Hilton, can you be in uniform and arrest me?

It's a fantasy.

The last time I was arrested was by a fat dude cop who I would have outrun if I wasn't wearing only my underwear and was dripping wet because he pulled me out of Edinboro Lake.

Gave me like a $175 fine for underage drinking - it was either that or do a few hours of community service. I told my grandma that "community service" meant picking up litter on the highway with murders and sex offenders - so she paid my fine for me. I also couldn't get my drivers license for 6 months - but, who cares about that.

Red Tracton's is a really good restaurant. It's right across the street from the track. A lot of horse people go there. The downside is that it's really expensive. Here is their website:
http://www.redtractonssteakhouse.com/

Another good restaurant by the track is Brigantine's aka "The Brig". If you go to The Brig you should go to the bar section rather than the dining room. The bar section is more casual and they have a separate menu where the prices are very reasonable. The most popular thing is the fish tacos. The restaurant is up on the hill right above the train tracks and overlooks the track (Del Mar).

When you said the "Fisherman's Warf" (I don't think there is a restaurant by that name in Del Mar), I figured you were talking about The Fish Market. The Fish Market is a good restaurant right next to the track on Via De La Valle.

I have been to both, but it's been about 15yrs and had forgotten the names, but I think your right.... The last place was the Brig. (Great atmosphere)

I enjoy seeing people make fools of themselves.

They plan a vacation to somewhere...with no idea where to go,see, eat and sleep.

So they ask people they have never met...who live everywhere except the place the asker is going to.

And they call me odd.

I don't think we can count that -- it wasn't consensual on the part of the sock.
