Thanks for putting this up for us Steve!!! One problem on it however it seems DRF forgot about JP's Gusto. He is in the Top 10 but any clue the exacta $ amount AND Biondetti has already been ruled OUT,Buffum is gonna be the Godolphin Rep on the trail

Quote:
J P’s Gusto, winner of the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity, worked five furlongs in 1:00.20 at Santa Anita. He is likely to start in the $250,000 Robert Lewis Stakes over 1 1/8 miles on Feb. 12, trainer David Hofmans said.

That's correct. And no plans announced yet for his first target.

Buffum wasn't nominated to the TC.

Have the nominees been listed someplace yet? When does/did the first round of nominations close?

I'm sure he'll be a late nominee. Steve said here that, per Tom Albertrani, Buffum was being sent to Dubai. If not, then why is Biondetti being pointed for a Euro campaign? I think it's a mistake, but he's not my horse.

For those who care about the purses of the preps, the Ill. Derby has been cut to $250k.

Not sure Jaycito is progressing along that well.

Ya talk is that Jaycito still can't make left turns but Lewis is his target.
Also about Buffum,I saw the same thing but everywhere I look it says Frankel,Biondetti and Pathfork are all pointed to the big race in Europe the same day as the KD. Illinois Derby will still bank the winner 150k. |
