I just noticed Chester's in the House. Le Chateau looks like the one to hold off. I remember Humble Janet from OP, that last race of hers wasn't as impressive as it looks on paper. She beat Classic City Diva, who Sumwon smoked last time. Sumwon's got a great shot, barring anymore Albarado garbage rail moves.

What does the pace scenario look like?
It seems like the key for your filly is how easily she can get the lead. Are there others in here that could challenge her for the lead in the opening half? I'll be cheering for her! |

Good luck to everyone on Saturday.
I am very disappointed that Sumwon was not able to race on Friday. Had a flight to Louisville for that day, but needed to be in San Francisco on Saturday. I hope she kicks some major butt on Saturday. |

Sumwon has a good shot ladies and gents. Just checking out the DRF, her last Beyer is higher than any other fillies last fig.
#1) Le Chateau could be tough, but she hasnt run since March 10th in the FG Oaks where she finished 5th by 11. Le Chateau has been working pretty well so I imagine she'll be the favorite. (Ralph Nicks and Robby Albarado) #2) Humble Janet won a 30,000 Claimer last out going 1:39and4 for a mile at Oaklawn. She's 2-1-1 in 5 starts, but seems to be a cut below this group IMO. She goes for the A$$mussen and has Bridgmohan on. #3) Kissit finished 2nd in a NW1 two back at Hawthorne running a 67 beyer. Looks like thats the best she'll do. I dont see her being much of a factor in this race. (Dee Poulos and Mark Guidry) #4) Sumwonlovesyou, runs in the lime and blue colors of Dee Tee Stable for Charles Simon and is the bomb-diggity. #5) Le Peaks broke her maiden last out on the slop in her 12th try for trainer John Moore and Calvin Borel. She paid $52.00 to win. I see her only being a factor if it comes up sloppy again. #6) Philips Pride is an interesting filly, ran 9th, 10 lengths back in her last start on the Turf 1 mile and 1/16th at Keeneland in a $52,375 NW1 allowance with a good tough field (like the one Sumwon faced at Keeneland). A $200,000 yearling purchase (Fasig-tipton august), Philips Pride has been working pretty solid (48.1, 48.1, 48.2 in last 3 works) and seems to be a player in this race. Shes a speed filly and I wouldnt be surprised to see her setting the early fractions. Dale Romans trains and Kent D has the mount. #7) Tactical Warning has not been in the money since she broke her maiden in November of 05. This is her second race off of a layoff, her works are consistantly average and I dont feel threatened by her. Mena rides for Jeff Taley. So, with my gambling expertise ( ), I will play a 3 horse tri, Sumwon over Le Chateau and Philips Pride. I'll do: $2 tri 4/1,6/1,6 and $2tri 1,6/4/1,6 I'll probably play an exacta with that group also. GOOOOOO SUMWON!!! (woop woop) Edit: A smart horseplayer just pointed out to me that Steve Assman claimed the #2 Humble Janet 2 starts back (next out she won by almost 4 lengths). Steve Assman also owns her. I guess that must make her a player. I'll add her in my tri play so it would be 4/1,2,6/1,2,6 and 1,2,6/4/1,2,6. Last edited by Antitrust32 : 05-23-2007 at 04:53 PM. |

What !? who where why??? First Riot and now Unstable. I don't know your situations but let me guess - you traded Friday for Saturday and now it's too late to switch back. This is terrible.

I have been betting the horses for 15-20 years. Nothing could compare to the feeling I had when Sumwon got passed in the stretch in her last race, and then she went after the horse that passed her. I remember telling somebody that if Sumwon had come in 1st instead of 2nd, I probably would have passed out. Go, Sumwon! |

Looks like Saturday should be a beautiful day in Louisville. Our gal should be ready for a nice race and I'm looking forward to meeting more partners.
Can't wait. |

Without looking at anything else, this might be her race. She was foaled on 4/4/04, running in the 4 hole in the 4 o'clock hour. Too bad this is not the 4th race - then everything would be in alignment - she'll just have to run through that. Also, 4 is supposed to be a very auspicious number in Chinese numerology, if that means anything....
Can't wait for the winner's circle photo. |
