Default After Royal Ascot

you'd think the racing would get a little quiet, but jesus no..
Pretty Polly on Saturday, possible Finsceal Beo v Lush Lashes
Irish Derby on Sunday Derby rematch
and from Chantilly GP de Saint Cloud,
possibles Getaway, Soldier of Fortune, Doctor Dino, Zambezi Sun and 2008 Arc winner SADDEX

from racingpost:

GETAWAY is set to bid for his first Group 1 success in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud on Sunday – where he looks likely to clash again with his Coronation Cup conqueror Soldier Of Fortune.

Getaway finished fifth behind Aidan O'Brien's four-year-old at Epsom and O'Brien told the Racing Post on Monday: " Soldier Of Fortune may go to France on Sunday for the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and, for now, we are looking no further than that race for him.

“We'll see how he gets on there before looking any further ahead."

Getaway's trainer Andre Fabre will be forced to find a new partner for the Jockey Club Stakes winner, as regular rider Stephane Pasquier is set to be claimed by Khalid Abdullah to ride Zambezi Sun.

Paul Harley, racing manager to Getaway's owner, Baron Georg von Ullmann, confirmed that the son of Monsun is an intended runner on Sunday.

"Getaway will run in the Grand Prix at Saint-Cloud and will have Summertag as a pacemaker," he said. The six-time winner has been partnered by Pasquier in four of his past five starts. Olivier Peslier has ridden him four times and Christophe Soumillon took the reins on three of his three-year-old starts.

"He was fine after his race at Epsom and Andre Fabre is pleased with the horse, who we did not want to race too much early in the year," added Harley.

With Peslier marked down to ride the Richard Gibson-trained Doctor Dino, Fabreis likely to look towards rising star Johan Victoire, who has chalked up 50 wins this season.

Another top-class runner in the Grand Prix will be German-trained Saddex, who won the Group 1 Premio Presidente Della Repubblica in May.

Doctor Dino and Zambezi Sun will clash again after the former just had the upper hand when taking the Grand Prix de Chantilly this month.

Thought something had gone wrong with Takeover Target, he stopped too quickly and that isn't usually like him.

I think the old warrior needs to be retired now.

Doesn't supplementing a pacemaker for 100,000 Euro seem a bit odd? Well not to the lovely Princess Haya of Jordan. I hope Upton Grey does the job for New Approach....

I agree. I'll miss him, but he deserves a long happy retirement in a nice paddock somewhere now.

Would hate to see him come back and be only a shadow of his former self.
