my understanding is that the TB is an early maturing breed (relative to orther breeds) the knees should be closed at some point in the 2YO year...but starting training while the bones are still undergoing remodling will ultimately get you a sounder horse IMO, provided the long yearling/short 2YO is brought along carefully and not asked for speed early.

Interesting that HIP 86 ends up easily being the sale topper as a filly. The next closest was HIP 165 a Mr Greeley colt.
Lots of RNA's and the big HIP 125 ended up being an out. The Boundry's were a little surprising as they brought some good money and people still love those Include babies. Outbid twice.....darn the luck |

Did anyone else bother to read the charts from the card from Keeneland that day?
Some very, very fast times out of some very, very ordinary horses and fields. |

She went for nothing, she didn't sell.
The Mineshaft filly OTOH was probably a better buy. She's well bred, correct looking, fast and sired by the stallion who was the most expensive horse to enter stud during his 1st season. It's a great sireline and even if sh'e bombs at the races her residual value is all but assured. |
