Default Gulfstream question

Just curious, how is it that a track that has a (rumored to cost) 30 million dollar statue in the parking lot, not have the adequate equipment to ensure that races are run fairly? See today's 2nd race. I didn't have a dog in the fight, as I have vowed not to bet another dollar there after being taken down in a garbage DQ a few weeks ago.

The 2 checked out of there while making a move on the turn. There was room on the fence for her too. Camera angles just weren't conclusive to what happened. There was an inquiry and objection, but they left the 3 up. To me it looked like she came over on the 2 forcing Larnerie to check/steady, but it couldn't be proved on the replays. There is a chance that the 3 just got a bit skittish on the inside and checked out herself.

I've seen this happen on the turf course too, when the rail is at a certain level. They just dont have a good view of the stretch run.

so what should have been done to make it "fairer"? DQ a horse on a possibility that it may have came in on another horse?

The correct NON-call was made.

The correct call was made, because there was no proof.

My point is, the track could spend 30 million on a cockamamie statue, but can't invest in the necessary equipment to ensure that the races are run fairly? It's ridiculous. Here's a view from the head-on from the 3rd. Good luck with that one, if something happened in the stretch.

Looked like the 2 was getting ready to run away from that field. Horse was loaded.

I agree, but to their credit it was at a point on the turn where it was almost impossible to get a good view. I don't think you can get a view from any track in the USA in that position on the turn. In Dubai they have that unique camera where they literally follow the horses every step of the way. I played the 2 as well and agree with RTH (loaded) especially on the cut back from a route race to 7F.

Gulfstream is basically the focus of every horseplayer throughout the winter and it gets scrutinized in ways other tracks do not.

Com'on Gus, you don't really believe this, do you? All the tracks take grief when things go on. I saw Santa Anita getting killed on Twitter for canceling yesterday cause the amount of rain they got. I do think Gulfstream takes the most, but it's their own fault. I watch a lot of races there because I somehow get the feed at work and every day it seems like something else.

There are 5 minute lags on every race, camera angles for inquiries on the turf course are comical (when the rail is out). Obviously, there was a camera angle issue on the dirt course yesterday also (Other tracks do have that issue too). I've seen horses get loose for a decent amount of time/distance and still race. A horse lug in at the start compromising every horse inside of him and Stewards eventually declared this horse a non starter, but if you had money on one of the horses he compromised, you were out of luck (Horse outside of him actually won race). It shouldve been a no-contest. Not to mention a couple of head shaking DQ's, all while Javy continues his herding tricks without anyone blinking an eye or blinking his number to investigate.

IMO, they don't get scrutinized because they are the main focus of players, they get scrutinized because they do a lousy job down there.
