I think both scenarios make the baby races even harder to play with horses catching synthetic or slop for the first time.

As for handicapping, I would pefer the slop. You would think that most of these horses have some sort of off track lines/form in their pp's. Not to mention their bloodlines too.

That's a tough question - but I think I prefer a microbrew.

Shouldn't you be packing?

I'll say the poly this year........last year most of the horses had never run on muddy tracks or bad turf. This year many of the horse have been exposed to some sort of synthetic track in training or races.

And this isn't a biased question....interested in which people would rather handicap, which is a better money making opportunity, and which surface is fairer.

And a dry, dirt track is not an option here.
I'm only taking this year because the turf will not be a bog and there are a few past BC years of SA/OSA turf races to draw information from to form opinions. I will be looking to make my money on the lawn this year. Last year, that was a risky option with the deluges. Too many "what if's".

Already looking forward to the BC at CD in 2010.

POLY over DIRT anytime.

FAIR RACING over BIASED RACING.

The ironic thing about this year's BC is that any BIAS will be on the (speed favoring) TURF. Now, ThAT's (long overdue) PROGRESS.

At some point MAYBE TRACKS will get a CLUE and start offering FREE PPS for their races. Until that happens, we'll let the trainers (and breeders) do the job for them since they have MORE money.

NTRA sire has the free pp's, only problem is you have to click and print 1 race at a time.
http://www.ntra.com/races_index.aspx?id=3

hope it works.

You can get every race but the Marathon in BRIS Ultimate PDF format at:

http://mysite.verizon.net/whobet/friday.html

Once you're on the page, click the Sat link to get Saturday's races.
