"bombed" may be a bit strong. Delightful Kiss missed 2nd by 1.5 lengths in the Ark Derby. Granted there was that additional 10 lengths up to Curlin in 1st!

What made you use Delightful Kiss today? I didn't think that his May 4 turf race was that inspiring. If you didn't like him before the Ark Derby, and "he bombed" in that one, what made him playable for you today? (not a rhetorical question--I'm genuinely interested.)

I absolutely agree re Cowtown Cat's 3-5 being one for the ages. The fact that Cowtown Cat went off at 3-5 should end the discussion about whether this game is beatable. What exactly was CC's excuse for finishing 52 lenghths behind the winner in the Ky Derby?

I used anyone with a chance with Officer Rocket because I loathe Cowtown Cat.

Craptown Rat was the worst 3/5 favorite I've seen in a loooong time... the "wiseguys" at Monmouth today were jumping all over him... unfortunately my selection Moyer's Pond ran well, but not well enough.

That exacta was awfully short, however. I only had it on a backup ticket for $2 but I was expecting more than $250.

The exacta reflected truer odds of the horses in the race in that the exacta pool was more accurate where most likely Cowtown Cat was closer to 6:5 or 7:5 and thus everyone else was lower.

Thanks, that was my guess. With that math, If you make Cowtown 6/5, Moyer's is 5-1ish and Delightful Kiss is 16-1ish and the exacta is correct.

That makes sense. In addition to Delightful Kiss, I thought the odds on Moyer's Pond and Returning for Duty also justified win bets. And dare I say it, at 40-1 even Danny Sez was tempting.

If anything should be learned from this thread, it's the concept of the CRAPTITUDE FACTOR.

Nice work, Miraja. I expect to see your assessments in upcoming races.
