1:08 was a bad number but I was trying to get a point across that it is going to be contested and hot up front, and I would want a horse that is going to sit the trip

i guess the whole point of me posting was because i dont see anything near 1.08, and thats why i like nobiz so much, i think he will sit right off a 1.10 and have enough left late to get it done.

What makes you think Nobiz isn't going to pull a move like he's done before and wear himself out? Going 10 panels is a lot for a horse that literally cooks himself.

i just dont see him running well in the derby, im wrong alot though
but i have felt this way about him for a long time even before the tampa bay derby, and before the wood, i never thought he'd run well in kentucky
You don't get it. AGS ran better then SS in the TB Derby also. SS got a rail trip and ran the shortest possible, AGS was 3w and 4w the whole way around, if you switch the trips, AGS wins that race by about 1.5 lengths.

No way AGS was loaded for the Wood, they could care less about it, they got the earnings, and they had him cranked enough for more earnings, he is going to be fully cranked on Derby day

In horse racing, the past means absolutely nothing, especially when talking about things like times and who the beat. Tracks change, and sometimes on a RACE TO RACE basis, so who beat who 4-6 weeks ago doesn't mean much, it is who is best on that day

i dont know if he will or wont, but he has been my derby horse all year, and in my opinion he has done nothing for me to jump off.

Kid, I think we have established that you like Nobiz Like Showbiz in the Derby this year.
If you could limit the number of posts devoted to this topic to say.....maybe.....35 a day.....I personally would appreciate it.
Thanks.

I should rephrase this and say "The past means SOMETHING, but it isn't as big as some people make it"

Ok, this is phucking hilarious... I'm sorry. First you say that you think Nobiz is going to sit off the pace and have enough late and now you're saying he never relaxed in the Wood. Which is it? If he never relaxed in the Wood (your opinion), what makes you think he's going to relax in the Derby? A rank, out of control and unrelaxed horse is going to have it VERY tough on the first Saturday in May.

It would seem foolish to me to decide how I am going to play the race before all the other races are completed, or the post positions are drawn, or the horses work on the track, or I know who is in the race, etc.
Usually these are things I like to consider before I start picking who will win a given race. Call me crazy.

Oh come on Cajun, he is going to be one of those rank, out of control, unrelaxed horses that rates perfectly and wins!

I'm not trying to twist anything, kiddo...

Just trying to make sense out of what you're saying. I didn't like what I saw out of Nobiz in the Wood and because of that, I'll take a chance by not picking him as the Derby winner right now.

Disclaimer:

All of the above changes if he draws the 9 hole. That's the winning post position.

I agree, the pace should be solid and will take out anyone not fit enough to go the 10 furlongs. The only horses that might have the class to sit near it and do well are Nobiz and Any Given Saturday.
