Or she could run one furlong less in the Whitney against what should be one of the worst fields in the history of the race and cement her legacy with a win and then go on to further cement it with a win in the Travers. You think anyone will care two months after she's retired that she won the Delaware Handicap? If she won the Whitney and Travers she'll still be remembered in 100 years.

Cause no one will remember who she beat. All they'll remember is that a 3yo filly went in and beat older males in the Whitney.

Why not? Isn't it quite possible that the Jim Dandy or even the Delaware Handicap could wind up a tougher race than the Whitney this year? Somehow cause she's running against slower older males it is magically going to take more out of her than running against faster 3yos or older fillies?

Considering how much he paid for the horse, I think Jess Jackson's goal for the filly would be the Eclipse for HOY. A win in the Whitney or Stephen Foster (which Curlin ran in last year) and then the Travers would go a lot further than a win in the Delaware Handicap towards this Eclipse. The fact that Curlin was being pointed originally to the Arc de Triomphe last summer shows that Jackson can be ambitious when determining where to run his good horses.

What if Einstein wins the Stephen Foster, Arlington Million, Pacific Classic, Jockey Club Gold Cup or Goodwood, and BC Classic? He'd have won three of the biggest turf races in the country, the biggest synthetic races in the country, and a G1 or two on the dirt.

True, Einstein could win it if he sweeps the rest of his season.

Mine That Bird could win the Belmont, Travers, and BC Classic, and that might be good enough as well.

I guess one more race against males might go a long way.

Jackson might be seduced by her chances of winning the Belmont and then cementing herself as the greatest filly ever. I think it would be dumb to do as there are a great many fun places to put her this year. Personally I would love to see her in a race against Zenyatta. Don't know if it will happen but can you imagine the buzz for that one?

I don't see her running anytime before the Breeder Cup against Zenyatta in a race on a synthetic surface (which is an unknown for RA).
