It's because of the BCS system that a school like Utah or Boise St. is even in the conversation and under consideration for a top bowl. Who you play absolutely has to matter. I guess you probably thought up until yesterday that Ball St. deserved to be in the mix too? What would you have said if they too had ended up undefeated?

Whatever. Yeah the underdog never wins it all. Villanova won the basketball championship in 85. No one gave them a chance. Man can you imagine if the bcs ran the basketball tournament, they would have given it to gtown why play the game. Also nc state. But yeah you stay stuck on that. Anyone in any game can beat anyone in college football just like in basketball. Who thought duke would lose to michigan today? Thats whats great about basketball and so sad about football. Their is now 34 bowl games! That is a joke. Rewarding teams on bad seasons getting to go to a warm climate and play in a joke of a bowl game. Example is wisconsin they don't deserve to be in a bowl game. So you keep dreaming the little guy couldn't win. How do you know they aren't given the chance by these bs idiots!

Or BYU winning the NC by winning the '84 Holiday Bowl over a 6-5 Michigan. The only way that happened is with the "Bowl System". If there is a playoff, BYU doesn't make it out of the second round.

I made my prediction with the expectation that Harvin would be playing. He didn't play. I still took the bet of Florida -10 and won that bet. What would have been the point of coming on at halftime of a game that has two halves? I don't get it. I may indeed suck. My opinion may indeed be garbage. Those things are subjective opinions. Nobody said that they COULDN'T win it. But football is very different from basketball. In a one-game scenario, sure, they could pull an upset. In a playoff series, it becomes increasingly unlikely that they would get anywhere near a championship. They are much better off taking the huge money that comes from making a BCS game and running with it and possibly ending their really good seasons with bowl game wins instead of being a possible first or second round playoff casualty.

The strange thing is that Bama is better than Texas imo, yet probably falls below them because they lose at the end of the year.

Florida may be overrated but they are the best team in college football and they showed why. Fourth quarter was a knockout.

My point about BYU was that it was a complete bull.s.hit national championship. I was not agreeing with you in any way shape or form. If a playoff system exists, BYU doesn't sniff the NC in '84. If there is a playoff this year, Utah and Boise don't stand a chance to win more than once before being bounced.

USC, Okalahoma, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Texas Tech, Penn State......etc....>>>>Boise and Utah.

Absolutely on the money..........maybe they can wear the Red shirts next month at home when they are watching Florida and Oak. play for the national championship. They don't play anyone in an ordinary conference yet they want an invitation to the National Championship because they deserve a mulligan. All Alabama did was beat quality teams week in and week out in the toughest conference in the country. They got beat today and will accept the outcome without whining about what color shirt they have to wear playing at home.

You gotta love the lesson Pete Carroll taught his kids today.......you don't like the rule.....F>**'em just wear what you want and let them have the TO's. Like the damn shirt is making tackles for them........The penalty was too light IMO.
