Whoa whoa whoa. Lets calm down on the racist chatter. Instead of calling said owner an insensitive no no word, lets call him something that all of us can agree upon.

My vote goes for assholeface.

Who's with me?

You guys looking for a racial angle.
This is the one.
Look the only thing I have a problem with is that he calls him the "Panamanian" instead of kid or something else. There was simply no reason to say that....Take him off if you don't like his rides. He just won the race, you don't castigate him in public.

I was hoping someone would say "the towel-headed, sheep-sodomizing, terrorist was wrong for criticizing the little pinheaded dirty Panamanian's ride."

This place always exceeds my standards from a decency standpoint---I guess.

thats the bottom line, discreet cat coming into this race was a monster, FJ was looking for him to see what he had to beat, he couldnt have known that discreet cat was going to run last.....

Political correctness can be worse than racism. Overall, I think the " Royal Family" ( hope that's good enough for the P.C. police) are good for racing. Stupid comments know no racial or ethnic boundries. Sore winners I guess.

One thing to be cautious of is their knowledge of the english knowledge, some of these quotes can easily be misconstrued in the wrong tone

Can't understand why there would be any animosity towards Arabs.

It shouldn't be arab specific but if this was said in the context that it is written, well, the dude needs to shut his mouth like Rupert said, he knows zero about racing with comments like this

My thought is if Discreet Cat got first jump on Invasor, and DC went on to win, how would they respond? Race riding is also part of it, although we cannot relate in many ways. Knowing what the others riders are doing is a part of the equation.

Ok,heres my take on this topic.I had many run inns with jockeys, including hitting one with his own whip. But,in this case the jock knows this horse well and has made no mistakes up to this point riding him. So,whats the beef. All of sudden this towel head is going to tell jocks how ride horses. The closest thing his ass has come to sitting on a race horse is when he seats on his 200,000.00 gold plated tolet seat in the morning.I think because they have so much money they think their word is always correct.Try winning a Kentucky Derby instead telling a kid how to ride a winning horse in a big race. When you come back to the USA Mr.Towel head, stop by Wal-Mart and I will put 50 cents in the Merry go round outside the door, and you can show me and others how to ride a horse.

I can't believe some of the comments I'm reading here saying that a jockey should not look back. Every good jockey looks around and looks back. Most of the decisions that a jockey makes in a race are based on how the race is unfolding. The jockey needs to be aware of where the competition is.

With regard to Jara, it was important for him to look back to see if anyone was coming. As long as nobody was coming, he could ride more patiently. If he saw some horse making a big move, he would have needed to move a little sooner.

Anyway, I wouldn't have much problem with the Sheik's criticism, if the criticism was legitimate. However, the criticism was not legitimate. Jara rode the horse perfectly. I'm not saying that just because he won. I've seen plenty of horses win that get bad rides, but this was not one of them. The stretch is very long in Dubai. You don't want to ask your horse for everything at the top of the lane if you think the main competition is behind you and you think you have the horse in front of you measured.

If Jara would have asked his horse for everything at the top of the lane and then got run down right at the wire by Discreet Cat, that would have been a bad ride. That would have been a premature move.

Invasor doesn't get run down by anyone---and Discreet Cat isn't a closer.

One is a closer and the other is a speed horse---who should be several lengths in front, when running at that distance.

Well,if you got a problem with a ride, then the time to tell the jock is before he does it again. There are great rides on horses that lose, and poor rides on horses that win.I saw a couple guys named Lopez both give very poor rides in the same race at Bay Meadows on Saturday. All other rides look pretty darn good to me in comparison to that mess. So,I won't get into the Dubai ride, but if the owner didn't like a ride, then he needs to tell the jock BEFORE IT COSTS THE HORSE A RACE(no good after.)What I don't understand is why he would do it publicly.

Invasor probably doesn't get run down by anyone if he's ridden right. But if he moves way too soon and there is some monster behind him, anything is possible.

Hey it's the dude's horse he can say what he wants. If Jara doesn't like it he can ride the Duct Inner until hell won't have it. He'd better be kissing some arse that he's been given the chance to ride some good horse flesh and leave it at that.
