Simon says this is like a bad junk bond sales.

Unbelievable that folks buy horses for this kind of money that have not stepped on a track.

But let the market ride. Good ole America. Ill never get it.

If you thought Bernardini was impressive winning the Jim Dandy and Travers this summer, exercise rider Simon Harris believes you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Harris only gets on Bernardini when he has timed workouts. On Sunday, Harris guided Bernardini through a five-furlong breeze in 1:01.68 over Belmont Park's main track. It was Bernardini's first breeze since he won the Travers by 7 1/2 lengths on Aug. 26.

"I don't want to jinx him, but he feels like he's getting better and better," Harris said Sunday. "Straight up, he does. He feels stronger to me. I don't think we've seen the best of this horse yet."

Bernardini will likely breeze every six days as he leads up to his showdown with multiple Grade 1 winner Invasor in the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup here on Oct. 7.
Thanks, Da Hoss, I hadn't read that. Tom said that Bernardini's recent work was just as good, if not better, than any of his others (or something like that), so this colt (scary as it seems) is getting better. Oct. 7th can't come soon enough for me.

thirtysixth f. Dixieland Band - Steal a Heart - 3rd in first start, bought by Zayat

I am eagerly awaiting:
Indy's Windy f. A.P. Indy - Banshee Winds - sold for 1.9M, training in CA...I would have given my right arm to own this filly!

Shining Armor c. Mr. Greeley - Shining Through (dam of the talented and ill-fated Venetian Sunset & Strong Hope)

As for me, I really like Mr. Greeley as a sire. I think his biggest problem IS his auction prices...he's not very commercial but he will get you a runner. If I were buying for myself I'd find me the best Mr. Greeley or Dixie Union I could afford. Well priced runners.
I've seen the full to Indy Storm...she is nice, but he was a nice looking horse - just a big ole plodder when the smoke cleared....I think she'll be mich better than him obviously....

November 4th can't come fast enough for me, I've got 15-1 on him to win the BC Classic!!! (after his Preakness win)

I was impressed with her baby.....very nice..
Tom very seldom shells out the Big money. Usually goes for several less than 100k with a few flaws trying to find a runner. Tjink he has backed of the realy nice ones since Werner left. He is trying to upgrade the State breds here in Texas. What did he do with Touch Tone? he was probably his best one. Took him to NY and ran 2nd on the Belmont undercard 3-4 years ago.

Indys Windy's workouts are pretty poor and it looks like they backed off her within the last week or so....

Man, you guys act like $295k is a pittance for a horse. I guarantee you at some point she'll be more valuable than that if only as a broodmare.

I guess the Mineshaft/Dear Birdie didn't sell well, huh? Disappointing sale for Mineshaft, I think.......but worse for Indy. I don't think he's ever had worse sales results than this one....

Mineshaft - Dear Birdie hasn't sold yet.

The Victory Ride colt sold for over a million.

Why does Rick Porter keep spending so much money on Unbridled Song's when he is SO unsuccessful with them? Rockport Harbor was a one race pony.
