It looks like one of those Thomas Kinkade things from the '90's - he should have a lantern around his neck or something

His athletic accomplishments and immense popularity merited the 2011 Secretariat "Vox Populi" Award for the chestnut gelding, securing his place in racing history and in the hearts of fans of all ages.

Acclaimed equine artist Jaime Corum captures Rapid Redux in a stunning classic portrait of the "people's champ," wearing his familiar and distinctive green bridle and shadow roll. Like his celebrated great, great-grandfather Secretariat, Rapid Redux carries the alert expression and intelligent eye that often coincides with courageous heart demonstrated on the racetrack. Honoring this royal lineage, a small remarque of the 1973 Triple Crown winner adorns the lower left corner of the print.

Each collectible print is signed by the artist, and as Secretariat.com SIGNATURE SPECIAL, comes triple hand-signed by the Rapid Redux's owner Robert L. In the last twenty minutes I've read that Sand Cove who was a really really nice horse died of laminitis and Jungle Wave of colic.

I'm bringing these up because I know you know, all of us know, how ****ing many horses are gone because of these horribly dreaded words.

Research costs money, retirement costs money, all the charities need our help.

Many of us give but for some of us it isn't much, isn't as much as we wish we could, some cannot give anything at all but gladly would if they were in a position to...

So my friend I just want to remind people that a portion of every single item sold on that site is given to charity.

Would I buy it? No.

If it were one of the silly, slow borderline failure race horses that I love (and there are an awful lot of those ) ?

Sure.

He has fans and it is a nice thing to have for people who like him, I'd imagine.

Good for them. I hope they sell a ton of them.

It's ridiculous to use the name Citation in the same paragraph BUT for some people he is a blue collar, present day cultural icon (okay that word is a littl eover the toip but I'm making a point!).

So what if they're people who don't follow racing like we do. Let them have their hero. We know how he rates but there's never anything wrong with rooting for the little guy and finding creative ideas for the raising of necessary funds.

Penny Chenery is like the Betty White of the racing world.

It's been played.

So played.

She can't really help being who she is.

I know! Penny and Freddy should team up! Can you imagine? Two ambassadors of goodwill... I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it!

Nice line. Yeah, she has it rough.

The people demand that she make herself available for every horse racing related shill session and that every horse is connected to Secretariat in some roundabout way.

Laminitis, colic, death, and now Freddy...

You're gonna get this thread moved to the Equine Health room with a bullet.

Laminitis, colic, death, and now Freddy...

You're gonna get this thread moved to the Equine Health room with a bullet.
Steve should make another new section... Freddy's Funhouse. (It's real name is Room 101 but people don't need to know that).

You know the parents who would tell the kid they're going to Disney World but they'd really end up at the hospital to take their tonsils out?

So think along those lines...

You get people in thinking it'll be fun but then Freddy can do some retraining a la 1984 so people go in one way (nice) and come out... well, let's just say differently.

In the meantime if this thread expires Debodeb is in charge of the angels thread now. I've had enough (for the most part).
