Default 9 races (4 ungraded), 6 hours

The Saturday card will start at 1:10 p.m. Eastern with the Marathon, followed by the Turf Sprint, 1:50; Dirt Mile, 2:30; Mile, 3:15; Juvenile, 3:55; Juvenile Turf, 4:35; Sprint, 5:15; Turf, 6:00; and Classic, 6:45. Two races, the Damascus Stakes and the Oak Tree Derby, will follow the Classic.

If the idiots that produce this circus had half a brain, they would run the nine races in 3 1/2 hours. There is less than 20 minutes of actual action in 6 hours. Ever wonder why nobody other than us watches the Breeders Cup?

Seems like they could move it along a little quicker. It does provide good handicapping/drinking time in between races.

As well as driving down to the OTB to see Yakk .....did you know that it will be the last day at the Herkimer branch also, closing it's doors for good after the last race.

Yeah..I heard that. Believe me, They would do the same for FP if they could get a bar to have an EZ Bet. With Herkimer leaving, maybe we will be spared for awhile.

I thought someone posted a wagering menu a couple weeks ago. I can't find it now.

*edit* Found it, Sniper's thread.

Can I safely assume that the cards will be streamed online (as usual) on the CALRACING site?

I am curious, do you consider all these cross entries to be insane and ridiculous?

Makes it real hard for me to follow right now, unlike years past where were were a couple and most of them were for turf related.

Now that I think about it, you think it is because of the synethic?

11 come from the boy/girl Juvy-Juvy Turf races as well.. That's a big part of it.

And Dirt Mile produced 9 more..

Those reperesent 20 of the 30 X-entries.

Exclamation Lets Discuss the 3 BC Classic INVADERS

Duke of Marmalade, Henrythenavigator, Raven’s Pass

I KNOW some of you guys are familiar with these horses, or have an opinion on them regarding the classic?

Lets talk about the 3 invaders in the BC.

I think the invaders deserve as much respect and thorough handicapping as is given foreign shippers into races like BC Turf and Turf Mile.

I have some rough ideas about these guys' correct me, debate, offer your own etc...

Duke of Marmalade – might have a little tactical speed, has more experience at distances a little longer than a mile. Seems consistent. Maybe not a top class 12 furlong Turf Horse - but pretty good, and very tough intermediate distances, strong looking solid animal

Henrythenavigator – did he peak around the 2,000 guineas? nice looking horse, game in the stretch, likes a firm ground, Seems very close to Raven's Pass

Raven’s Pass – maybe a slightly later developer, just now reaching a peak? Seemed that riding tactics played a role in duel with HTN? = wanted to get first run..
