Default Iavarone afraid ?

Why cant Mike Iavarone just admit he is afraid to race vs Curlin in a REAL dirt race. He knows Curlin is dirt horse and not a turf or Poly horse, so he is keeping BB away from dirt. So now he wants a match race which would give BB a HUGE advantage. Why not just run in The Clark Hdcp at CD which is a Grade I with a 500k Purse in a race with OTHER horses. If BB is a great horse like they believe then run him in a real race on the dirt. Not as some side-show act on NBC at halftime of a ND game.

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Seabiscuit vs. War Admiral, the sequel? Everyone has been calling for a showdown between Big Brown and Curlin, and yesterday, appearing on the morning OTB TV show, Michael Iavarone of IEAH Stable proposed a match race between the two colts, to take place after the Breeders' Cup. Before the Belmont, Iavarone was dead-set against a match race, but since then, he said privately, his research has revealed they are not inherently dangerous; "and besides, our horse will be in front by 10."

His idea envisioned the race being held at Churchill Downs during half-time of a Notre Dame football game, with IEAH and Jess Jackson, Curlin's owner, each putting up $2 million, winner take all. The last day of Churchill's fall meet is Sat., Nov. 29, but the Notre Dame-USC game that day does not begin until 8 p.m. eastern. No response yet from the Curlin camp.
