I guess the real issue might be what affect this might have on him as far as Gulfstream is concerned or anyother tracks. Will this be just isolated to Calder or have broader ramifications.

which of course would be more important, and have greater impact on rene douglas.

I don't doubt that he does know what the story is, and I ca see where it rub people the wrong way to say I know but can't tell. But give me the opinions and info of people like Outofthebox, Cannon Shell, Richi, and The bid any DAY over the folks who aren't in the game. Those guys are actually players.
whether you know something or not doesn't mean a whole lot if you just say 'i know' not, 'i know, and this is what it is'. anyone can say they know something.
and whether you are an owner, trainer, agent, or fan, you're a player.

I know I don't know.

I talked to two friends who are at Calder today. One is "in" with one of the VPs. The other is "in" with a Calder top trainer Douglas rides a lot for.

Each of them had different stories.

If he's barred from Calder then wouldn't it be plausible to assume that he's also barred from Churchill and Arlington where he's been king, since they're both owned by CDSN.

Congratulations, it wasn't easy, but you have scaled new heights for sad and pathetic posting.

I award this post the coveted " five retches ".

Mike, do you see any reason for someone to post "Spoke to his agent danny today but Im sworn to keep it under a hush. Real interesting story though."

It is like teasing someone, it is worthless and pointless

well, we were all waiting for the next "award" or wacky word from you (been a while since you rolled out "insipid").

You've taken this "friend of the house" thing to new levels.

Honest about what? Honest that he knows specifically others on this board ( and I won't even include myself ) that are more connected than at least some of the four he named?

We all know the racetrack is a rumor mill.

I never talked to his agent...... I just made up the entire thing so I would have something entertaining to read. I knew the guys and gals who were big in the game here would discredit me.

Here is the rumor that I heard. I have no idea if it's true or not. I heard that he was seen talking to a person that Calder considers to be somewhat of an unsavory character.

These tracks are private property and they can do whatever they want. If they see you talking to a bookie or something like that, they can tell you to stay off their property. They don't need any evidence of wrongdoing. If they just see something that they don't like, they can bar you.

With all sincerlty and whatever modicum of due respect, let me ask what does being "more connected" get anybody? The track IS a rumor mill there's far more bad information than good floating around.

I find the connected people I know to be, for the most part, poor bettors. They can't seem to get past that "fear of regret" barrier.

Anyways, as you were...

LOL..Honest about the way a lot of trainers, jocks, agents etc. etc. think about those that "just bet," or "just watch" the races. The fans etc. are just necessary evils to these elite folks. They have a long way to go before they get as fan friendly as other sports.Bailey couldn't give a sht about the fans until he wanted to sell that DVD,and then he suddenly is on a commercial telling everybody that the fans are important.LOL,NOW they are important to him.

I don't agree. Some get it and some don't but for the most part the participants in the game are very respectful of the fans. And especially of the true fans. Whether or not they share information is another story, and considering how bad most of their info is they would probably be doing a public service if they never shared anything.

The average fan doesn't even know who a lot of these characters are, especially jockey agents, but for the most part they are nice to fans who approach them. Look, there's always a Mark Hennig in every bunch, but I don't think you have a perceptively different mix among racetrack denizens than you do in the rest of the world.

There actually quite a few who take fans for granted in my opinion. Far too many.
