As of November of last year they made it a Class D drug.

That has the extremely stringent punishment of a written warning to the owner and trainer.

I couldn't find a date....I'm not ashamed to say I googled it. I just can't tell if the poster has a problem with Oracle or TAP, I just think accusations based on one anonymous poster's nose have no place on this board.

You can run on DMSO in Kentucky as far as the rules say you can give them a bath in it on race day and its legal so.......

Thanks for the clarification, guys...

I know that DMSO smells like SHIAT and if you get it on your hands, you taste it in your mouth for a few hours. YUCK.

Yeah, my jumper had an old suspensory ligament injury that would flare up in his left hind, so we were forever applying topical DMSO to that leg. They always say to use gloves when applying that stuff, but I was too damn lazy to waste time on that, so I paid for it by tasting it all day! LOL

i dont believe its legal here in illinois but ive seen a crapload of horses runnin on it. we claimed 1 at arlington for a iowa trainer and after we got the horse back to the barn and i was bathing him he had something clearish all over his back that really didnt have a smell to it. 1 of the grooms from down the shedrow said it was baby oil but i doubt it

Accusations?? Honey, I have no problem with either. Oracle and I are cool. And I know what I smelled, I've been around it millions of times. Besides, the people around us was asking what the smell was too. We weren't the only ones smelling it.
I was told from a number of people it's not allowed in KY and was curious because I don't pay attention to KY rules. Bernardini stunk of it also.

Well, I guess whatever it was, if Todd was using it AND Bernardini then it certainly didn't help .

3-4 wide for three turns for 1.5 miles....I think he ran a great race. The only two that beat him saved all the ground the whole way around. Please don't tell me that you honestly believe being wide for the whole 1.5 miles had no bearing on him not winning that race. How many lengths do you think that translates to losing when running that wide for 3 turns??? I surely think it was more than what he actually lost by.
