![]() If you take the Paynter that ran in the Belmont and put him in either the Derby or Preakness he gets beat bad. Two easy paces in a row at Pim and Bel. If Bob brings them up here this meet, I doubt they run against each other because of their styles.

![]() Agreed. Paynter couldn't warm Bode up.

I really don't think that you can compare the pace scenarios of a mile and a half race versus the other two (not even looking at the Alw race he won on Preakness Day). I agree that Paynter would have probably been up against it in the Derby, if he did try to go to the lead and battle his stablemate. But I didn't think that the Preakness pace was that brisk where Paynter would have been drowned in that race. I was impressed with the race he ran at Belmont and believe that if Mike Smith didn't leave the door open, Zayat would have finally been in the winner's circle this TC season.

I do believe Bode is a vastly superior horse but distance, pace etc..... makes these statements kind of generic. |

![]() I think your post is generic. I was pretty specific. Put Paynter in the Derby or Preakness and he's begging for the barn around the far turn if not sooner.

![]() Missed the point where we were going back in time, thought we were looking forward. He would have gotten swamped in the derby and maybe sat a pretty good trip in the Preakness.
