Yeah.. Whoever is uncovered... You could augment the 5 with a 5-ALL-ALL tri kind of thing.

5-2-7 tri likely almost as good for you now as the 8.

I went a little crazy on the pk6 (for me) with a $1500 ticket. I didnt do what I said I would which is to take a break after a big hit. At least its paid for with the early 4!!!

pk6
4)3,4,5,6
5)1,4,8
6)5,12
7)2,3,7,8
8)2,10
9)3,9,11,13

Congrats Root! Nice hit. I just don't get the hedge bet thing. I can see putting some extra on the 5, but the rest weren't good enough to put on your ticket, so why would you throw $ at them now? But hey that's just me, you're the one cashing big tickets! Well done!

In the case of the 2&7, I could see hedging with some $50 win bets on each, given the payouts and the fact they're firsters which could anything could happen. The 9, prob could stand against since he didn't include him the first time around at 9/2 so obviously he didn't like him. I know any time I'm in a situation where I've got coverage in the final leg and in position to make a big score like Root was here I'm happy to throw a little at the ridiculous horses I don't have covered so I don't go apesh1t if they run the race of their life to beat me. Has to be for >$2-3k minimum payoff though.
