I'll be in Chicago a lot the next few months. Also thinking about trying to make opening weekend at the new Detroit track... mid-July.

is that detroit track still a go? I thought i read somewhere that it was delayed or canceled. i'm in detroit a lot and go right by the airport when I do so i'll certainly give it a look.

i really don't know. my guess would be the usual suspects, like the ones you mentioned, maybe with a smattering of Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana castoffs. i wouldn't expect any top names to make it a destination.

I think they're on target for July18th. At least from what I've read. No grandstand; tents, etc this year. But the barns (700 stalls) and track itself are supposedly on pace. Track will be 9F AWT called Super Track (Irish firm) with 8F turf. I think the holdup is about the state kicking in $10 Mil for the grandstand construction part.
