Curlin and Pyro

They worked in tandem this morning and, according to bloodhorse, only noses apart at the finish line. The 6 furlongs was timed in 1:13 (link below). My question is this, does working with Curlin help Pyro or does it make no difference at all? I could only think that working with a horse like Curlin could only help a 3 year old like Pyro. What are your thoughts (if any)?

Working with Rags to Riches didn't do much for Circular Quay last year.

I could see this being an alltime long thread over at PA. Wow, Pyro working with the big horse. Imagine the possibilities.

I don't see how it would help Pyro. If it would have any effect, it would be detrimental to Curlin if he's the type to run down to his competition. Running with a rat like Pyro won't help.

Maybe Asmussen ought to see if Baffert will let him work with Indian Blessing next week when she comes into NOLA. Will that help?

My record? Tell me what this record is and then tell me how it compares to your record? I'd bet that we are pretty much close to the same when it comes to analyzing talent. I'd bet that pretty much everyone on here is close to the same.

Forgetting for a minute about how utterly ridiculous your record is....

DaHoss hit four Pick-4s over the last two weeks....one paid $4400 for $1, one paid $2500 for $2 ( he had it multiple times ), one paid $2K for $2 ( he had it multiple times ) and sadly he only had the last one for $1.....which was still worth $5500 for his measly dollar.

So because I don't feel the need to post all of my wagers (winners and losers alike) means that I have no success at it or less than someone else? Ok. But DaHoss' comments weren't about wagering success. It was about analyzing talent. I ask again to tell me what my record is that is so bad and tell me what about other people's records is so good? We all see some horses and think they'll be good and they turn out bad. Or some we think will be bad that turn out good. Before DaHoss wants to tell me how bad my record is, tell me how good his is. That's all I ask.

My only problem with posting records like this is, nice predictions, but did you put your $$$ where your predictions were? Did DaHoss actually make the wagers on those predicitions? I hope so, but just sayin... I remember Byk giving priase to GPK for predicting a big pick 6 at Tampa last winter. But then I asked the same question- "Kev, did you actually bet your predictions?", He said "No". That sucks. I mean I want people to get paid, but just sayin, make the wager too.

You can argue that they posted those predictions before the races were run, so what's the difference? Well depending on the size and cost of the ticket, you don't know if people would actually the same way they'd predict.

IN THE END THOUGH, I FIGURE MOST OF US FROM A WAGERING AND ANALYZATION STANDPOINT ARE PRETTY EQUAL. WE ALL HAVE GOOD AND BAD DAYS. I prefer opinions about horses that haven't been wagered on, because I'd call a good horse "a pig" if I bet on it and didn't run well. But the great thing (and bad thing) about horse racing, is on one race you can look like a genious, and the next an idiot.

I was thinking along the lines of someone playing a game of ping pong or basketball with someone better that you and you get better by practicing with better talent. Does that make sense?

That makes sense but I don't think it applies much in horse racing.
