To be fair, I think one of them lost her husband in a motorcycle accident last year. I'm sure keeping fit wasn't her top priority.

I saw one or both of them last year a few times. Most recently at River Downs when they came for a winticket.com promo. A little porcine perhaps, but not quite as expansive as they look on the simulcast monitor. They're not the tallest ladies in the world and to add a few pounds is to add a double chin for certain.

I think the one lost her husband in '05 in a motorcycle accident.

Never had a lengthy conversation with either. Outwardly they seem to be nice ladies. I'd guess early 30s or so. Little bit more ruddy than the painted dolls that appear on the tube.

All in all they are a very good call for Beulah Park. They've definitely popularized Beulah Park among the horseplayers. For a decrepit track Beulah has tried some innovative things -- winticket.com sprang up from there I believe. They've tried some new bets including the Fortune 6. It's a 25 cent Pick-6 and some horseplayer won $175k or so on it last year. Equivalent to a huge Pick-6 payout in CA if you extrapolate the payout based on the standard $2 bet.

Shoulda made the drive out there today thinking of it . . .
