Default Way to go DT

Steve,

I hope you are right about someone stepping up. As the story of Shake You Down unfolds and if he is bought, it shows once again the good side of this forum and the power of the DT force.

All of which leads to another praise of you, Steve for bringing us all together and allowing for something like this to happen. Way to go!

Thx Spydie, but should this end well, and I believe it will, all the credit goes to the magnanomosity of BTW and those that follow through.

Cant be that hard to find somebody that has 5 grand and wants a nice new pet. I mean some dogs cost between 1 and 2 grand, so why not a nice horse who has a great history behind him. If I owned a house with a big backyard I would claim him. He would make great transportation to work for me.

This BS thread is getting worse post by post. I'd be very surprised if anyone buys this horse for his welfare. MAYBE for the PR value attached to it but that is remote at best.

I claimed Kilmoray for $10,000. Ran him down to $3500 and then Allen bought him for $4500 (he didn't claim from me) and turned him out. I'm pretty sure he was 11. This is the only such story I know of after being involved with 100's of horses "hands on" one way or another.

Won 5 races with A Deck when he was about 8 years old. Baitman won stakes @ 8 and Bobby and I helped him back to the barn @ Monmouth when he finally went. Sent him back to his breeders for pension. Got a nice letter saying he was happy and liked peppermints. Never knew horses bothered with peppermints before that. Always thought sugar and carrots were just fine.

Anyone wants they can look up what Hirsch did with Joe Jones and Paper Tiger. There's a zillion others but I'm not going to waste my time.

This kind of garbage is the down side of these forums. Readers sometimes believe that the clowns with the most posts are NOT the most ignorant members when it comes to racing. In reality, more often than not, they are.

Note to Bethani:

Horse's that get by the vet DO NOT FLOUNDER. As a matter of fact these claimers will probably be within 2 - 3 seconds of stake horse going the same distance the same day. Take the colors off and I guarantee you not one of these morons that is now moaning would know if he was watching a stake horse or a $5000, 6 year old claimer.

Where did Dixie's idiotic first post from this thread go Kasept? Of course it doesn't matter much, as he trumped it with the second one. I guess he'll delete it soon, which makes this place a little strange.

Flounder?

Perhaps you meant founder?

Then again, you did after all invent the "Friday Fish Fry" concept, so we all know you're correct in any event.

Of course, you also sued that rat Howard Johnson for stealing the concept.

Against your better instincts, you took the setttlement offered as you were busy helping Eisenhower and Montgomery with strategy at the time.

C,

He deleted it; an option we allow everyone but don't have to... For the most part, it's an option that people utilize with noble intent; erasing things they wish they hadn't said.

Curiously, Dixie has erased nearly everything he has ever posted...

I respectfully disagree...state vets are overworked and have openly said that they do not always take the time to go over each horse as well as they could on race day due to time constraints and volume of work.

Default Dixie

Dixie,

Excuse us for being insufficient human beings. I guess if we had more people like you in the world us low lifes would be able to learn "the way" that you so nicely communicate to us better. It's just a shame there are so many people like us the cloud the real truth that you seem to have a strangle hold over.

It's refreshing to hear from someone like you that has such keen insight into such matters and so boldly has no drothers to show what an a** hole that they are.

Vets come to the barn race day morning. Although I think most of them are hopless they will take a horse out and have it jogged if they are suspicious.

What you posted above is PR BS. Again, I will give you a pass as I do not know if you have ever been involved with a day to day racing operation.

Anyway, that's your last pass

Then considered yourself 'surprised' as it's in the process of being done RIGHT NOW. And there's no P.R. involved as you're not going to know who it is that bought him FOR HIS WELFARE...

Believe me when I say that the only 'downside' of THIS Forum is regularly evident to everyone...

Plenty of horses pass vet inspection and break down.. The understaffed Illinois Vets let a number of less than sound horses run at Arlington this year and the result was a spate of fatalities... Before you start citing your decades of experiience, that fact comes from the top horseperson in the Chicago area, trainer-breeder Christine Janks.

And finally, call the members of this Forum morons again and you can join your insane pal on the outside looking in...

Speaking of passes have you let some gas loose today? Better eat some prunes unless you want to spend Christmas in Cedars-Sinai.

Pais,
not to mention the anger and problems scratching as many should be scratched causes. Trainers screaming, track has to pay consos, bettors angry, etc.
I have never been mad about a late scratch in my life, because if my horse can't even warm up not being lame, then he sure as hell wasn't gonna win.

By the way if someone is indeed saving Shake You Down, you have my utmost respect and well wishes.

It's nice to see this thread, a Christmas Story of Good triumphs Evil.

95% of vet scratches are made at the barn in the AM and the public has no oppurunity to bet on them (although they appear on the program).

I'm kinda surprised at you here Mike. Thought you would know that.

I realize when they are made for teh most part.
But if you watch some of them warming up you can see how sore they are. I see it every day, and most are allowed to enter the gate.
Standing in a stall in the morning, even being jogged a little doesnt always reveal how sore they are. You watch em trying warm up on a given day and you can see the limpers at times who have no business being on teh track.

I think it's important to save these posts that Dicksie will delete eventually. Imagine a man so full of self loathing that he criticizes anybody and everybody, in as nasty a manner as possible, only to delete these tantrums when, I assume, his medication gets changed. At least, Dicksie, you could be a real man and stand behind what you say....otherwise your rants can only be taken for what they so obviously are....the sad tantrums of a failure who sadly looks back on his useless life and hates to see others succeeding in all the ways he failed.
