Ghostzapper was maybe not "great" based on his paucity of races but he was certainly "very special" in terms of pure unadulterated speed. And that was speed at any distance. Carrying weight too.

He and Candy Ride were two of the fastest horses we have seen in a long time.

I totally agree. Why is it though that we never stop hearing about Ghostzapper and never hear about Candy Ride who was just as fast and who destroyed some very good horses?

Ghostzapper is in that category with a Candy Ride, but you can't put him with the top horses of all time.

I would take Candy Ride over Ghostzapper. He is a track record holder at 10f at Del Mar.
