![]() Did anyone see the chart from Aqueduct's fourth race today? With scratches, a $12,500 Claiming Match race drew $38,000 in total handle. The handle for Aqueduct entire eight race card was $2.8M, a very concerning figure.
In a one on one match not seen at a New York race course in just over a quarter of a century PAINTED PONEY was away well leading briefly early on while going head to head from the inside, got shaken off a bit getting a sole tap to stay to the inside three furlongs from home, cut the corner into upper stretch, continued the fracas along the inside to come again and take back over a furlong out with good courage, edged away in the late stages geared down in the final strides to the wire. EPIPHANY broke cleanly, dueled from the three path early taking command nearing the half mile pole then just off the inside through the turn, shook away briefly nearing the quarter pole, spun just off the inside for home, dug in and was headed near the eighth pole, offered no extra as her rival opened up inside the final sixteenth. |

![]() Has there ever been a horse that has won on the New York circuit whose last race was at Los Alamitos Race Course? Today's fifth race winner (Second City at 5:4) might have been the first to lay claim to that title.
