That Japaneese race where the horse went last to first in the final 1/8th.

Also, Secretariat's Belmont and Cigar's BC Classic.

The unbeatabel, the unconquorable, Cigar" ( I know I messed those up)

The best call I ever heard, and probably will ever hear was Tom Durkin's call of the Travers when Deputy Commander and Behrens hooked up.
Chris McCarron IMMMPLLOOOOORRRRRIIINNNNNG Deputy Commander for one more furlong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris and Deputy held on, the day after Chris's mom had passed away. He returned to winners circle with tears running down his face to an applause from the fans that is usually only given to very special horses. In this case, the applause was for McCarron.

Da Hoss's second BC Mile win stretch call was awesome. "Da Hoss comes back!"

Durkin "Here comes Personal Ensign"

Anderson: "Pincay hits Sham with a left handed whip and Ronnie Turcotte has his whip put away and Secretariat has him [Sham] put away"

ditto on Durkin and Personal Ensign.

The call that made me start practicing race-calling:

"Melhor Ainda might get into second, But NO WAY, does she catch the winner, the Japanese superstar, CESARIO!!!!!"----vic stauffer

My boy Terry Wallace when he would call an Arkansas bred to the win. His name was Booozzzzing They're in the gate and it's Booooozzzzing out to the early lead. The other was the race between the horses named, Whoseinthelead and Idon'tknow. It's Whoseinthelead, Idon'tknow. What a race call.

Nothing beats Secretariat's Belmont but a close second..."here comes Personal Ensign unleashing a furious run on the outside!"

Thumbs up 2005 Bc Juvenile Lived Up To All The Hype!!!

Last Years BC Juvenile Lived up to all the HYPE surrounding First Sam, HH and Stevie Wonderboy.

"Its Henny Hughes on the inside First Samuri on the outside and Stevie Wonderboy closing in on them with one furlong to go." awesome just awsome

TOM DURKIN

Not him. The horse, of course.

Enjoy the racing.
Cardus, I have watched that replay many, many times...and it is still to close to call. Until they put the camera on You...I really thought CH was the winner. As Durkin called "a photo that doesn't deserve a loser". It was a great race..and Durkin did it justice.

PS Does anybody have a link to a replay of that race?

Favorite 3 calls from 3 different announces from the last year:

Megahertz 2005 Yellow Ribben "Flip Flop the jockey just gave a look of anguish of how do you beat Megahertz!" - Trever Denman

Lava Man 2006 Wittingham "And Lava Man says to Kings Drama 'O No You Don't' ... Lava Man is soaring away, hes like a eagle, hes like a BALD EAGLE...Lava Man crushes the Wittingham" - Vic Stauffer

Lost in the Fog 2005 Bay Meadows Speed Handicap "and it's LOST IN THE Fog.....he's all over this group....he enters the final furlong in complete command...Halo Cat can only watch him run away....so its Lost in the Fog....he will remain undefeated....a perfect 10 for 10....but still one more victory is required to silence the skeptics and prove to everyone hes the best sprinter in the world!" - Tony Calo

I sure remember that race. Picked up a few bucks myself. Skippy was running with awesome power in that victory. The best I ever saw him look and he looked good a bunch of times.
