Pioneerof the Nile ran the worst 2nd place finish in the Derby in maybe decades. He was blown off the track by Mine That Bird and won a staggering 3-way photo for 2nd over immortals Musket Man and Papa Clem.

What does he have to do with anything?

You don't think Baffert will be able to reason with Zayat?

They need to be a little patient with Bodemeister. Skip the last two legs and get ready for the summer/fall 3 race campaign.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he will run in the Haskell if he is still in training at the time.

They have to. It's such an easy spot for that horse. The only thing they have to worry about is the draw but I doubt you get more than 9 in the field.

I have to imagine Bodemeister will come out of that race fried. Call me crazy, but the horse I'm looking to bet back in the Preakness Is Union Rags.

Union Rags is the LeBron of derby horses. He's had enough excuses and burned enough money.

Matz says Belmont makes more sense for Union Rags, probably no Preakness.

I think Bode should go to the Belmont. Win by 15.

Zayat Stables owns Paynter as well as Bodemeister. It's a good situation to let Bodemeister to take a break and not run back in two weeks. Paynter seems pretty legit.
