With 252 million combos on a sequence involving 8 horses in each race...you might as well play the lottery. Surely, some combos will be more bet than others, but if my odds at 252,000,000-1, just on pure chance, then how much do I really trim those odds when there is some intellect going behind them? The odds of hitting Powerball = 192,000,000-1 or so, and the base payout is $5 million. Yeah, sign me up to have a guaranteed pool of $100,000. If the number of horses in a selected sequence were 8,9,10,10 then the number of combinations...wait for it... 2,090,188,800 Yes, that's 2 billion combinations. Give me 20 powerball quickpicks and five punches to the gut and I'll be on my way. |
