![]() In other breaking news, I just ate a Mineola that was not particularly tasty and had lots of seeds. The freezing weather in Florida is killing orange/tangerine crops.

![]() Respectfully Frederico, he did and respectfully, if we're lucky, there will be another horse with a feel-good story attached.
Or two. Or threee. Like it or not, believe it or not, people become fans and some of them bettors. This is a great chance IF someone picks up the ball and runs with it. The network people can't make smart choices if they don't have a clue. They can't see the big picture if they don't realize that there is one. Someone needs to approach them and be on them on them on them to build this up, reminding them that their commitment will benefit (cha ching) all parties. What happened with Alberto VO5 sponsering the filly race at the BC? Why did that end? I know it's the Derby sponsord by Yum Brands but there are other races, other potential sponsors and if they're attached they'll be more willing to pay the big bucks for extra commercials as a build up... THis could be a very good thing all the way around. Hopefully the people who are in a position to see this and take advantage of it will get off their asses and brainstorm and begin to construct a plan. Or they can just let it go, sit around, hope for ratings and a decent audience and do nothing. After the Triple Crown is over they can compain and be oh so bewildered about why racing is continually low man on the totem poll. |
