My favorite part was they set a good example for owners to follow. I hope everyone likes greyhound racing because that is what we will be betting on if owners of the future campaign their horses like they did Zenyatta the last two years.

ateamstupid I appologize but I didn't say something correctly. I said that old friends told me they donate to old friends. But what I meant to say is that old friends told me that the Mosses were the number 1 donators to old friends.

There are many thoroughbred charities and each has it's own #1 donator. Being the number 1 donator to a retirement home doesn't merit being owner of the year. However, the whole point of what I wrote was to make a case for awarding Jerry and Anne Moss the eclipse award for Owner of the Year.

Here it is again in a way that might be clearer to you.

The Mosses are amongst the elite owners in American Thoroughbred racing today.

This year they owned the sports superstar horse. Therefore they were at the center of racing. They were the owners who the media interacted with the most. They were the owners who the general public (who does not follow racing all year) got to know. Essentially, because the Mosses had the spotlight on them they became thoroughbred racing's biggest spokesman in 2010. It is a fact that not only were the Mosses great spokesman for racing but they were great at helping attract new fans to the sport of kings. (Something racing greatly needed after the breakdowns of Barbaro and Eightbelles). You can go back and read my original post where I go on to list all the Mosses merits. (Being the number one donator to thoroughbred racing's biggest charity is just one of those merits.)They are class acts (regardless of if you want to call them cowards for their handling of Zenyatta's Campaign). And since this year they were at the center of the racing world and since they do so much positive for the game I said it would be the perfect year for them to be recognized with an eclipse award as owners of the year.
