Default Sept 4th 1920 Man o' War

From NTRA Website

Sept. 4, 1920:
" Man o’ War won the 1 5/8-mile Lawrence Realization Stakes at Belmont Park by 100 lengths, the largest winning margin in modern racing history. His time for the race, 2:40 4/5, shattered the world record by 6 4/5 seconds and was his fifth record-setting performance of that year."

Instead of running in the Breeders Cup...

Jess Jackson could line a match race up -- RA against the top Arabian currently on the Delaware Park circuit... the distance will be 1 9/16th miles.

If you can't get an Arabian from Delaware Park ... go with the top mule currently running in the fair circuits in California.

Either way, the result will be a 100 length victory for RA and a final time that destroys the world record.

Maybe PG 1985's future great grandson will even start a thread about it a hundred years later.

At 1-to-100 odds, He beat an eased up claimer in a match race at a seldom run distance.

And this is worthy of a thread 89 years later?

If you want to talk about great Man O' War wins ... how about his stunningly impressive 1 length win over Ralco.

Yeah, Butwell obviously should have sent him. You can't let Man O' War get away with a 23.60 first quarter and expect to circle past him late going 6fs.

Beyer gave him a 193 after splitting the variant. Rags had him with a -12 but TG had -18. Jerry Browns great grandfather called Leonoid Ragozin an idiot and a communist for his number. The Bris power number came back 241 and Equibase had him with 188 but the number blew up the abbacus they used to store info back then.

LOL.. And I was thinking my vote for you as the most annoying poster may have been a mistake. Thanks for setting me straight.
