You know, some horses DO do better generally at Saratoga. The whole atmosphere is more relaxed than at the metropolitan tracks and the noise level has to be lower than at Aqueduct or Belmont. (The latter may be farther from the center, but there are still railroads, freeways, and planes overhead to add to the ambient sound levels.) Many horses get used to the noise, et. al., but the more nervous sorts can find the more country-like atmosphere up at Saratoga like a tonic.

Went back and looked at some old pictures and found this unfortunate pair, but what a race. RIP to both.
