I'm not sure what perfect is but under the circumstances he did absolutely nothing wrong. He lost to a better horse who got a good trip as well. If you criticize the ride that John Velasquez gave in the second race today you have no credibility. It's as simple as that.

I love how whenever you make a correct criticism of a rider, Chavez has real gate problems, someone shows up with their next winner.....as though that has anything to do with what you were talking about.

Unless I missed your post where you said Jorge Chavez would never win another race.

The favorite in the 2nd was losing no matter what. . . I'd like to see how Pegasian would've done with a clear run.

The THREE STOOGES coming down the lane: Gomez, Prado, and Cornelio.

One sticking righty on the rail; the other sticking to the 2 path as if it were golden; and the 3rd yet to be introduced to the loose rein method of riding -- it's a machismo thing. Bouncing around like pinballs.

i think i am starting to realize something......
horse racing is 95% about the jockey/trip you get...
these last few days, i have been on a coast to coast pick 4 binge... and i have seen some horrible trips, horses who were much the best, losing because of the jockey.

He probably would've. . . and I bet him too. I was actually more mad at Corny at the time than I am now. Sure, he didn't give his horse any room to run in the stretch and ended up getting stopped by the 3, but I'm not really sure what he could've done differently. . . the whole just wouldn't open up. Peagasian is obviously one to look for next time, but don't be surprised if he's 2-1.

i guess... i thought he was strong the whole time, then he seemed to hesitate just a little when it opened, by then it was to late, if he goes outside, hes hung 4-5 wide, but is he a winner ? i had him win/place, i would have took second at 9-1

forget about Chavezs ride in the last, how about the horse? where did that come from? i went extra deep in that leg and didn't use the 8.
unfortunately that was the story of my whole day.

That was about as inexplicable a winner as you will find.

Oh stop being so serious....I'd agree Chavez is done, and posted what I did because it was ironic...Chavez won the nightcapAt Belmont and precipitated the carryover.

IF, if I bet Chavez, I'd say before the race. I don't redboard.

Testy, aren't we?
I NEVER posted I had Chavez...only POSTED (IRONICALLY) the Chavez booted home the $40.00 winner in thr 9th at Belmont.

BTW, YOU do know when you do the nyra handicapping show that you are supposed to be SPEAKING TO THE CAMERA ( AUDIENCE) NOT DONOVAN.
Go watch the tape of yourself today.

When he was out here riding in the last race, he seemed to be able to will any rat to make a big winning bid on the turn.

i caught that nyra show today, and didn't notice anybody looking the wrong way. i'm no marty scorcese but i'm pretty sure that for a show like that you are supposed to look sometimes at the camera and other times at the guy that you are chatting with.
