Why make a bet that assures you of at least 12 loosers out of 15 bets?

If you box 4 horses in a trifecta you have at least 23 losing bets, so it is quite common, what are you trying to say?

I'm all for new and innovative wagers, but this one takes the cake in the dumb category.

Hell, the over/under bet even makes more sense than this steaming pile of dog crap.

they should tie in slots with horse racing. if you get three saddle cloth numbers across, you win a ticket along with your prize. then if those horses hit a tri, you win that money too.

what the hell, couldn't hurt....

how's that for new and innovative??

my guess would be this is another stab at getting slot/keno/lottery players interested in betting horse racing.

i can think of a rare occasion i had 2 win bets in a large field but i don't think i've ever had 3. that part is what cripples it for me.

the 3 horse box exacta and trifecta are fine.

if i understand it correctly, it's a series of parimutuel slot machines that pay off based on previous race results, and you bet on the outcome with slot machine type graphics. it's wildly popular so they must be doing something right!

i hope it keeps doing well, anything to help the track. it's just not for me. i went to a casino once, about 12 yrs ago. never again.

matter of fact, oaklawn is supposed to add quite a bit of square footage to their instant racing area.

I'm not a slots player either. Most racetrackers aren't- it's a completely different mindset.

It is a terrible bet for 98% of this board, but I think it could be a hit for the novice people/family's that go to the track once in a while . These people don't go there with the stacks of money/information/opinions/disciple of most of the people here. They are $2 dollar across the board types. So you tell them that they have all these combos for just 9 bucks and they just might bite. Not to mention you are getting them involved in exoctic thpe bets that they probably do not play. Maybe if they hit 1 or 2 exacta's/triple's they might leave the shallow area of the pool and jump in the deep end.
