I don't think it's easy to predict what free agents are gunna do for you. What I do think is easy to do is to determine what free agents are worth. For instance, the signing of Schmidt was poor value (decaying , and Frisco new it.) Garciaparra was so hurt he couldn't help the team at all in the 2006 playoffs. So, why would you think the next 2 years would be better? ( as far as his injuries go.) So, I couldn't believe they gave him 10 mil a year for each of the the next 2 years. That was predictably gunna be pissin' money away. Andruw J was showing definite signs of decaying skills, but they gave him a mint. This is not an organization that has any luck getting free agents to hit home runs. You can wonder all day long why that happens, but it does. Pierre is simply non-impactful, but gets 9-10 mil a year for being non-impactful

. Then, you have some very bad luck mixed in. That would be the injuries last year( and this year right now) to Furcal. When he is healthy, that's a really good player, and more importantly, a team player. Maybe those injuries were predictable as well. I don't know, but I do think he is the only one worth the money he gets paid. Kent has been a band-aid the whole time. Not the worst signing, but not really a "winning" type signing. His skills were decaying (Houston could see it, and this organization evidently thought they knew better...ha,ha!) I think the "kids" have either got minor league skills(Kemp, Loney,) or aren't strong enough mentally to take advantage of their hi-end skills(Billingsley, Broxton.) Ethier, Martin, and Kuo are probably the 3 that have the talent to play at the level, and they aren't stand-outs(just good players.) If Ethier and Martin were stand-outs, then the Dodgers wouldn't be scoring 1 run a game. Then, you throw in that fact that there is so much free horny ***** here, and you have a lot of distraction. What Dodger youngin' hasn't ALYSSA MILANO given it up to? If they ain't doing her together, then they are doing her a couple hours apart.
