That's what I thought.

I didn't expect anything great, and I'm actually hoping they flop.

There have been a few shockingly impressive young stallions in the juvenile sales season.

Sky Mesa's 1st crop was an embarassment - he's really got a few that can run in this his 2nd crop though.

I thought he was a really mediocre horse, and his progeny have been too.. Not saying you're wrong, but I'll believe it when I see it.

In the Hollywood 2yo race that Backbackbackgone scratched out of (the one Drugs was discussing in another thread), the winner was a Lion Heart 2yo trained by Doug ONeil named Azul Leon.

thanks. I will have to pull the replay. I think he will do quite well as a stallion especially at that fee.

Lion Heart has several who look like they have talent.

However, it figured he would.

The most shocking freshman stallion I'd say has been City Place.

He's an unraced son of Storm Cat out of Glitter Woman.

More than a few of his offspring have sold for insane amounts - and the dams of his expensive ones were about one step away from the glue factory.

He has two of them that can't miss. One is headed to Japan and the other is with a trainer at the Fair Hill training center.

Spanish Steps (unraced full brother to Unbridled's Song) has had some decent ones too that I've seen. I'm also looking forward to seeing the Friends Lake two year olds hit the track.

I am so looking forward to the Pleasantly Perfects !! A colt of his ran 2nd at first asking at Belmont. Winner was much the best, but it was sloppy and 5f aint exactly gonna be a distance for his babies. I also dont think we will see many running till the fall either. I dont think they will be win early type of horses. But just wait till the races get longer !! What can I say, I just love the big guy. Cant you tell by my screename?

They look really good. I think he has a good chance to be leading freshman sire. Pletcher has one who won very impressively at Keeneland. Her name is Pride. She ran in the 1st race on April 25th if you want to watch it.

The horse that finished second to her that day runs back at Churchill TODAY!

It says the Lionhearts are 5 for their first 10. That's with zero repeat winners. Not too shabby.

Is there some web site that features 2YO activities? How do you keep up with all of them? Perhaps you guys are more connected to the sport but it would be very interesting to keep up with them.

I take it one of the well known guys managed to survive without the assistance of a top notch wingman?

It is amazing all he accomplished without me. I'm befuddled.
