I didn't think 26 days was all that quick of a comeback, and the Crown Royal was graded, with double the purse of the Woodlawn. Just seems odd to me, but maybe you're right, and they just wanted to give him the extra time.

No, you're right, it's a little strange. He could do a somersault and drown that field on Friday assuming it's on the grass. I guess Prussian might be OK but the rest of them aren't much.

He only lost by a few lengths to some monsters in Europe. I won't be surprised if he turns out to be the best 3YO turf horse in the country.

I gotta say, I REALLY like Highest Class in the Black Eyed Susan. She had all kinds of issues in her last at GP, last early and wide around the first turn behind a slow pace, started to make a run then checked and got shuffled back nearing the far turn, and after that the jockey didn't really press on. Seems to be a huge filly who takes a while to get going, but she ran on with Proud Spell in her race at the Fair Grounds and didn't lose a step to that one. Fired a bullet work, on top of it. I think there's enough pace in here to set her up and we might, if we're lucky, get 5-1...

Was there a third turn....because she was hardly wide around the first turn I saw her on. She's not impossible but I'm not a fan of suck up plodder types. However, I really haven't finished looking at the race.

Artie Schiller. It was amazing he paid $8 that day. Timo was, unbelievably, the favorite. Artie was awesome winning that race.

Prussian would be an inclusion for me if there weren't so much speed in the race. Like you said, even if Hatta Fort isn't at his best for some reason, he should probably win easily.

Of course. I believe it was like the 5th race of the day, and I cold punched a double of him and Abbondanza (RIP) that paid something ridiculous for a 3-1 and 6-1. I love Preakness day. Wonder why they moved the Woodlawn this year?

Just rewatched the race, she wasn't as wide as I had noted, only the two or three path. Had to check several times though, and she doesn't appear to have much re-acceleration, so she'll need racing room to win of course.

She may be a plodder suck up type, but I'm a sucker for those types in these kind of races, and the only other one I actually like in here is Bsharpsonata who probably doesn't want two turns on dirt (especially coming back in 2 weeks), and I don't trust She's All Eltish to repeat her GP race (which was admittedly OK) off the turf detour in between. You can have the Zayat entry, for that matter.

I hate Bsharpsonata in here. I don't think she wants to go this far either, especially on the dirt as you noted, and I felt before her last race that her streak had come to an end. A lot of racing without a break if you ask me. Plus, I thought she was dreadful in the Oaks.

Dreadful is probably too harsh, as she was beaten only a length for 2nd behind the winner who was flat out awesome, but she definitely packed it in in the last furlong after really getting away with pretty reasonable fractions. They'd be better off putting her on the bench and waiting for the Acorn, where'd she'd be a solid 2nd choice behind Indian Blessing. What does this race do for her, exactly? She's already a multiple G2 winner.

End result, I don't like her either, and she'll take a fair bit of money.

She would get destroyed in the Acorn.

She was coasting last time and came up dead empty. Little Belle beat her. That's enough for me. And, Pure Clan even beat her, and she got one of the worst rides of the year.

i also couldn't understand the ride she got. she's not run on the lead all winter. i think you're right about the extra distance, the mile might be her best race.

One of my first nice hits came while playing against Artie in a stake at PIM. In the Dixie (G2) when I bet Cool Conductor over artie and singled him in all my p4s. Looking back, I still can't beleive I played a Ralph Nicks horse. But I had just started playing the races, and ignorance was bliss.

Dare I say it: The Black-Eyed Susan and Preakness cards are going to be infinitely more fun to play than the Derby and Oaks cards. I love these cards.

The horse went to the lead in a paceless race. If only the horses I bet always did that.

Other way around. Timo wired Artie in the paceless Pilgrim on softish turf. It was a totally phony win.
